To your pinned comment, the news doesn’t really change much for me since I don’t have any Discover cards, and I don’t care about Capital One much at all nowadays since I only have a Platinum secured, and a QuickSilver haha.

Oh for sure; just imo, it’s a little too soon to worry or celebrate; depending on which camp you’re in. It was interesting when the Discover CEO stepped down though

There's a lot of unknowns. C1could lose visa/maatercard branding and suck oitside the US. Banking side, C1 rep literally said we don't want to do banking business with you. So will my discover checking be closed by C1. Wjo else could be in that situation.

For sure, there are a lot of unknowns, but I don't think it'll be that extreme. It would be bad business at that point, in my opinion.

10:00 You didn’t explain why you disagreed at all. All you said is that if you have something that does not necessarily mean you’ll use it but you didn’t explain why it would be useful to you. Unless you are carrying debt and need to decrease your reported utilization or have a 0% into apy I do not see the point. You can just pay off your balance b4 it reports if you’re not carrying debt from other 0% cards. If anything having a bunch of huge unused limits reported makes you look like a blow out risk imho. Do explain, thanks in advance!

They must have read our conversation here 😂😂 I went ahead and activated it, because it's always good to have a 0% card in my back pocket. Balance transfer rate is 4%. Noooo😂😂 Interesting... The internal morality struggle that banks have. On one hand they want me to be a smart investor and wise with my money. On the other hand, they're offering me all kinds of anti ethical alternatives.
