No, you should’ve went downstairs and said you were given a one bedroom upgrade. Show the email and ask for the upgrade! And since you did fight and get your upgrade, you could also do what I’ve had to do one time and that was call American Express directly and let them know. I was once at an FHR hotel that was not recognizing my benefits and I pulled out my cell phone and called American Express directly American Express Asked me to get the name of the person that I was talking to because they were going to call them directly! They ended up speaking with the hotel manager and I got everything I was supposed to get and then some.

I gotta do one of these at the Hilton in Las Vegas. They told me it would be only 2hrs, can they really hold you longer past that? Like, if you say you’re not interested what’s really the point of holding ppl hostage. Once the presentation is given that really should be it. None of this going to multiple rooms to sit down with ppl to have pointless conversation. So not looking forward to it sMh 🤦🏽‍♂️

All cards are the same thickness. That uniformity is legally required. From what I can tell though, the more expensive the card, the heavier material they use for it. The CSP and CSR both come in at 13g, the amex gold at 15g, the bilt mastercard and 16g, and the C1 venture x and amex platinum at 17g. I also found a site saying the platinum is 18-18.5g though, so grain of salt. That said, all the above cards, regardless of weight, are mandated to be .76mm thick

I’ve noticed this as well FHR is really going down hill. I have been denied late checkout they said sorry we are too busy. Then i drive and did the valet. I requested 1 hour late checkout due to an meeting i had. They gave it to me but charged me an extra day valet. Instead of 75$ valet i had to pay $150. But they said your 100$ FHR room cover $100 of it i just owed $50. In done with FHR.

Definitely file a complaint with Amex. It might not change anything in the near term but if enough people complain, the property can be deflagged as an FHR property.

That sucks. If I’m honest, if I feel like the hotel isn’t fulfilling its agreement with Amex my first thought is to leave. I know most people say you have to give them a chance to do this and that but I don’t. If it’s not up to snuff, I’ll just leave. I shouldn’t have to ask for someone to take the trash out.

Ive heard you should call the hotel to find out as much details on what they offer FHR customers. So your not suprised

That’s really disappointing! I live a block away from here and did a staycation here. I actually really enjoyed it. I paid for the upgrade up front and didn’t end up using all the credits because we did dinner at Del Mar (great restaurant). In my opinion the Park Hyatt DC has the best FHR experience, mainly because they’ve upgraded me to their junior suite for free and their credit can be used for the Blue Duck Tavern which previously had a Michelin star and is a great restaurant.

Same goes for me. I stayed at FHR Loews Regency New York Hotel had a same experience as you! Room over all feels like a motel or holiday inn. And service wasnt good

So…the Cadillac was an Escalade 🤣. I actually got one of them to take me to the airport from the Waldorf Astoria 😆. The pizza box would’ve been a turn off to me. Luxury resorts aren’t supposed to miss details like this. They’re supposed to have someone else (supervisor or management) inspect the room after it’s cleaned to make sure their standard is being met. I am surprised of the very “intimate” lobby 😂. I wish I got to see a tour of your room though. I was anxiously waiting for it 😅. Based on your review, it sounds like the Pendry is lightyears behind the Waldorf Astoria when it comes to service. This is good to know and hopefully if their staff sees this video, it helps them to make improvements.

Go figure, the Pendry hotel gave you a drypen, aka a Pencil. But seriously, yeahhh I think if you’re playing in the FHR game, you kind of have to step up and provide much better service. I think it’s like Michelin stars for restaurants, better be excellent or else it gets taken away. Same should happen for FHR hotels I think. Maybe I’m too harsh, but I know how upset you were, that should never happen with this type of stay. Driver saved the hotel. (juicy 😂)

I am currently in room that was booked through Delta stays that was booked in advance and was able to the trip 3 days before so not completely refundable but pretty close.

It means they're ISO9001 and 27001 compliant....pretty basic stuff for any company that needs to keep information secure.

I just got back from the Philippines where I used the card a few times at local Philippine ATMs. Not only did I get reimbursed for the ATM fees but I also got an very good exchange rate. I highly recommend this card.

I haven't used FHR yet, however, im surprised that you get the credit upfront in the bill. I was under the impression that you get it as credit few weeks later. Good to know. Thank you for sharing!

So you don’t even get the Delta earn rate using the Amex? Other than the annual credit I can’t see why you’d use stays unless it’s during one of their MQD promos

I know a lot of smart and strong people that went to these presentations just for the gift(s) knowing that they would not buy. I guess they weren't as strong as they thought because many of them walked away with a timeshare. If you are going to sit through these presentations, make sure to stand firm.

Yes, so frustrating when trying to navgate to Stays and end up on Vacations! The $250 credit was nice, but the MQDs on Delta Vacations (flight + hotel) is nice too!

So does the credit reset on calendar year and card anniversary? I'm not understanding how you can use the credit twice a year every year?
