In this video, host Marie Serneholt and Mercedes-Benz CEO Ola Källenius take the electric G-Class to a Mercedes-Benz test ground close to the Arctic Circle in their home country of Sweden.

Love the turns of the G electric and body shape. We told the EVs are reducing and yet it is obscure as to whether the new G electric is a disguise of afore features and the colors are an eyesore on the snow😅

В будущем продавать к таким мощные авто специальное дополнительное оборудование способное работать напрямую от аккумулятора: Плазмоганы, переносные сварочные аппараты, лазерные резаки, супер проекторы и даже электролебедки для кранов и погрузчиков. Т.е. вы покупаете не просто авто, а универсальную платформу для запитки разнообразного электроинструмента или оружия самообороны. Приехал на Гелике на дачу, включил лазерную травокосилку и подстриг газон. Электронасос включил и полил траву. Всего 10% заряда ушло.. Приехал на озеро, опустил мощную светодиодную подсветку через удлинитель на самое дно и лови рыбу весь день наблюдая как она стаями подплывает к наживке.

I have some questions. Is it built on a ladder frame chassis? What is the maximum depth of water that it can go into? Both river water and sea water? As is built with independent electric motors what is the equivalent of low gears and diff locks?

Why give up on the Bi Turbo engine for some lithium bs? You will see its failure same as the new 4 Cylinder C63s. You are losing money pleasing the people who aren't interested in your company's clientele. The people saying "love it" can't even afford it, cause the ones who can, understand cars and would never waste money for such a thing.

@@KnellAnwyll Yes, but for instance AMG is still on their way to go fully electric afaik. Electric cars do offer a lot of performance after all, but of course the emotion that a rumbling V8 provides is missing a bit 😉

I am 53 years old, I have been a Mercedes customer for many years and, before me, my father was one. I take advantage of this space to say that the quality of Mercedes is in sharp decline, with the exception of the G class which has always been present in my family. Ola Kallenius is the first to say, even in this video, that there are many people who are more interested in infotainment than anything else. I may now be from another era but, for me, a Mercedes must be, first of all, quality. Unfortunately 80% of today's Mercedes are truly not up to what the Star represents and it's a shame. We also have a 2021 GLE 53 in our family that is clearly not up to the asking price to buy it. Furthermore, as a historic Mercedes customer I must say that all the EQs are truly unbuyable, above all because they are aesthetically ugly (at least for me). Long live the G class, with the hope that Mercedes will shine again for its quality.

Great tech in many ways, but it has a few obvious drawbacks compared to the ICE-versions. With 116kwh net capacity a 470km range is not much. At 3085kg it's not much left of the loading capacity at 415kg. No roof loading capacity and finally no towing. It can't do anything of the things you'd expect from a proper SUV. So who is it for? Is it just a lifestyle statement?

I hope that Mercedes-Benz, if they want to sell electric cars, will invest in the development of solid-state batteries to ensure a significantly better range of 800 km per charge and significantly shorter charging times. Additionally, I hope Mercedes will develop diesel and gasoline engines in combination with mild hybrid technology, as Toyota has been leading the way. Come on, Mercedes, you German marvel!
