People in general are being toxic right now. But we can say that over the last two years something has really changed with Godzilla/monster fandom. Little bit of a bummer

Despite the community being connected through some aspects, our community is very divided among many other things such as different versions of Godzilla itself. Half of the people in this community are nice, genuine people who just love Godzilla overall. The other half are other people who like to win arguments and spread toxicity throughout the community. There is an obvious in between of these two sides, but regardless, the age gap, interests, and different versions of Godzilla will continue to divide us. Edit: I’m not saying the arguing side is bad, debates are very good to have in a community. However, there are many young kids or simply people who like to annoy others and spread toxicity and brain rot which is not something that should be added in an argument as it can spark many dangerous aspects of people and debates themselves.

All fandoms seem to be toxic to an extent, but at least we aren't star wars. Edit after watching the video: I'm definitely among the biggest Kaiju fans out there but I don't really get involved in the community, but damn I had no clue this sort of stuff was happening.

There are many genuinely amazing Godzilla fans. It's just that the fanbase has recently been purged by brainrot children and truly toxic people, which in turn gave the fanbase a bad reputation. Also, don't get me started on the dark side of Godzilla fanart.

The people in the Godzilla Comunity are alot like the Titans in the Monsters Verse. They can be cool and peacefully exist but when one of them step out of line it becomes a major issue. Thanks GodzillaGuy for bringing balance back!

Another problem I see in this community is that a lot of us can’t handle any criticism or opinions. I see a lot of people and contents creators (mainly dangerville) make fun of people who criticize and have their own opinion on something that’s different from theirs. Which is kinda childish.

It’s hard having an opinion in the Godzilla community because if u don’t like a certain version of Godzilla or do ur either biased a glazer or “not a real Godzilla fan”

As an example, I hate being labeled “toxic” or a “tourist” when I say that the Legendary films are not good (except for 2014 and KSI) all because I’ve lately been judging/critiquing films for their writing and quality to filmmaking. It’s also annoying for getting any backlash when I critique anything Godzilla related, cause I love the character and grew up with it, but nah, just call me a tourist. It’s also worse when there’s people giving death threats to people like Man In the Suit. Like what? Community is toxic as shit, but nowhere near the level of Star Wars stupidity, cause the Star Wars fans DESTROYED Star Wars.

As a member of the Pacific Rim fanbase the MonsterVerse fanbase has been actively insulting us for a while and I say that yes, they are very toxic. One of the main reasons I don't want a Pacific Rim and MonsterVerse crossover is because the community's merging would only result in a more toxic fanbase.

The main problem is everyone is focused on what kaiju would win in a fight. But usually they’re really biased and just make up things to make their favorite kaiju win. Causing others to get mad and start arguments. We should stop focusing so much on who would win and just start appreciating the kaiju genre as a whole. It’s not bad to wonder who would win in a fight and stuff like that but when you get biased and toxic about it it becomes a problem. Its like every community its not gonna get any better, the best way to deal with it is to grow a pair or leave the community. After being around for many years I've grown so casual so the things I see and hear around. There's so many freaking predators around that I've truly lost count. This video was great from you kim and whoever else made a video. I might come back in for a bit and speak about it myself. Dangerville has made similar videos in the past before one of them featuring me about the toxicity of the fandom during minus one and GXK. Glad to see more others want to speak out about it.

I, am going to expose myself right now, have ADHD and DCD. For those who don’t know what that is, look it up. Because of this, I fidget a lot, and my mind wanders a lot, and I struggle to pay attention to things. And, a memory that’s vivid in my head, was me struggling like hell in school during maths, and the teacher coming up to me and saying “if you want to distract the classroom, you might as well do it somewhere else. Your effort is pathetic” I remember almost crying, because maths is my favourite subject. Now, luckily for me, I have a friend in my class who is also a Godzilla fan. They went, and had a fricking argument with the teacher, and it was encouraging to see that people could stand up for me. Recently however, people have been cyber-bullying him for a claim. Want to know what the claim was? “Final wars is the most enjoyable Godzilla film, and minus one never will be”

Fandoms are like the ocean they’re are so really good parts and so parts that need to stay in dark

Regardless of size and concept, all communities are going to have some form of toxic nature, tiny or a major defining factor of the community, but there are always just normal members casual fans, and hardcore yet open minded individuals, and when things start to get bad it can suck. But when those who have influence step up to address problems, potentially call out their own followers, it spreads hope, that a community can be better, thank you.

Honestly the community/fandom is currently divided the old fans which is the people who grew up with Godzilla against newer Godzilla fans. As a long time Godzilla fan, I am disgusted about how the newer Godzilla fans are acting. I hate how they are toxic like for example most of the new fans came from watching Minus One and after seeing how Evo. Goji is pink I HATED how they felt and said "it's woke" and "they ruined Godzilla", now first of all I wasn't personally a fan of Evo. Goji the first time I saw him but he did grew alot on him and ended up being one of my favourite Godzilla design OF ALL TIME. And what I hate the most is how the newer fans treat the older fans since sometimes if not almost most of the time the newer fans treat the older fans like shit. I see newer fans not respecting the opinions of older fans and worst of all disrespecting them and it's sad to see once a great good fandom become toxic, you know? I grew up watching Godzilla so he's very special to me but seeing how these newer fans act so disrespectful and toxic to not just the older Goji fans and other newer Goji fans but to also other fandoms which just breaks me to see that they are not just ruining the fandom but ruining Godzilla in general. I really hope the fandom becomes better soon and we can reduce this toxicity as soon as possible.

Well I've personally never interacted with the community. The only Godzilla community I've known are my personal dear friends. We joke, watched some of the different era's of the Big G, etc. But I'm glad that you and among different KZfaqrs who are fans of Godzilla are standing up to those individuals who makes us look bad.

Let's thank the toku fans who are actually pretty chill and are actual goats because they deserve it let's take the spotlight from the creeps and give to the people that deserve it because when you stop giving those creeps attention they will eventually fade away and then maybe when the new fans will see actual genuinely good people maybe they get inspired to do good as well thank you for reading

I have had a good place in the Godzilla community but there are A LOT of bad things in this community, As well as other communities. I get the editors who make vs battles stuff are apart of the toxic side of the community but it’s mainly their fans not them. Also there have been tons of things in the Godzilla community that makes it toxic and its mainly the fans themselves, what we need to do is fix the community by doing our part and showing new people the better side of the community and call out the bad people in community like you said.

The toxicity in this fandom towards women and lgbtqia+ fans is getting awful and I would hate for them to get driven away more than they already have.

I’m glad this subject is getting brought up. but I would like to tell the worse case I’ve seen so far and I would like to go more into detail this time to tell you people all about what happened their as about 2 months ago over on twitter their was a deleted post where 400,000 fans decided to show their worst selves where they told one another about the death threats they sent people, the racist and sexist slurs, and the worst of them all was a thread of a little under 11,000 fans decided to say that they wanted to grope children and that some actually did, there was also another thread where they talked about how they crippled some Kongs fans legs by grabbing a sledgehammer and smashing his legs apart while his friends decided to pluck his eyes out and where they even had a audio recording of the event which I wish I never clicked on but curiosity got the better of me and I heard that poor man literally scream for help as some guys told him to be quiet or else they would hurt him even worse, and the worse part about that certain thread was that fans were laughing at his pain and that they wish they would’ve done more to him After I saw that post I will hate to admit this but I did nothing I just turned a blank eye and just turned off my phone for the night so please if any one of you see something like that post please alert someone because what happened in that post should have never happened to begin with and please do raise more awareness to your friends and family and try to be the better person than I was when that happened

As a guy who as been in cronics server yes, everything he said about the server is true. Racism, homophobia, slurs have all been used in this server so I would Like to back up Godzilla guy on this matter.

Being a girl in the kaiju community it can sometimes feel really gross. Like often guys will get weirdly hostile as if I don’t belong or they’ll get creepy. Not the majority but definitely makes the fandom a less fun place to be.

I also grew up with jobbythehong (may not be too good of an idea for eight year old me) but he was a massive part of my life

The Godzilla Fandom is like an old, rustic coin: has seen a lot come and go, and whilst one side is lustrous and beautiful, the other is coated in all sorts of nasty shit. Like dried vomit and Chernobyl souvenirs.

Every community I know of is toxic. FNaF, Kong, Godzilla, literally every community is toxic. I’m part of the Godzilla community and I can confirm that it is the most toxic out of the 3 of them.

From my experience, the Godzilla community is one of the most toxic and heated community I’ve ever seen. For 1 of many countless examples. I had a person call me a delusional 3 year old for disagreeing with a “fact” (the “fact” was a statement said in the Millenium era that really doesn’t hold up anymore)

I'm gonna sound dumb but I didn't realize that this community was toxic. But after hearing about some of the things people are doing and saying in the community. I truly think that this is sad and I hope we can fix it. I know all community's have a bit of toxicity in them. But to this extent? Idk I just want to say thank you goji guy for helping me realize something that I was so blind to not notice

It's definitely looking to be that way sadly. I don't indulge in the fandom because of how bad it's gotten. I'm a fairly new Godzilla fan so it's definitely put an impression on me but I've just ignored it, except for the creepy and gross side

This is very similar issue with the scaling community as a whole, literally the same points really, which hurts me, because it’s literally just people engaging in a media they love in a way many people don’t, which I know you don’t but I find endlessly fascinating, and yet there are consistently just terrible people in the community, I mean absolutely god awful creeps, and just bullies, and the issue is this loud obnoxious minority (god I hope it isn’t the majority) is most people’s main interaction with the community which makes what really is just a group of people loving media and expressing that in unique ways as appearing to literally be monsters and I hate that so much.

From my experience, it's the kids that ruin everything, specifically in the Monsterverse fan base. They are toxic and cringe trying to annoy anyone who isn't on their side. We're trying to have fun here not have idiotic debates of how Godzilla 1v1s everything abd don't even get me start with THOSE KZfaq animations. 🤮

I myself back when I was younger was kinda sexist and aggressive towards other fandoms and because of that I was proud and very stubborn to not being a proper person but last summer I did some self reflection and I’m trying to be a more level headed person on the fandom. Sometimes I lose my temper but now I’m mostly calm and try to understand what is happening. And I have noticed what’s been happening on the Reddit and it’s just messed up.

I feel like there has been increasing toxicity in general over the last couple years, not just in the Godzilla fandom, or fandoms as a whole, but the whole internet. Kinda sucks.
