The media mod should have had its own "feet". That would have solved the issue, but I also feel that the media mod should have been designed in such a way that you can replace the battery without taking the camera out of the mod.

100 percent agree I've started carrying a battery pack to keep my gopro charged. Another thing I had to buy. How do you get the sound of your motorcycle to come through all the wind noise without an external mic?

I'm sticking a battery on the back of the helmet and charging the go pro as I go, to avoid the exact problem you exposed

i believe you're supposed to run it off usb power instead of replacing batteries (which negates the need to open the door), but the problem still exists when you want access to the sd card. you'd still need to dismount and disassemble the camera to change over the sd card which would make this mod a pain to use on a daily basis. i also have the camera mounted to my motorcycle helmet on the side and it's almost touching my helmet using a gopro official helmet mount (not aftermarket) so this mod would add to the bulk of the camera and it might not fit. additionally; it doesn't make the record button any more glove friendly than the original button. most people wear gloves when they're riding their motorcycles and engaging in action sports and with a limited battery life of approx. 1.5 hours i need to be selective about the scenes that i record. final verdict: 1/10. will not buy.

Random question.. when you did ride your bike with the media mod, do you keep the media mod mic cover on?

Love the video and audio quality. Battery is great. Media Mod needs feet!
