A proprietary battery is a deal killer for me. The light itself is impressive so it's a pity. I mean what's the availability of these batteries? What happens in a year from now when you need a new battery? Screwed.

Good video. I will avoid square COBs in the future. The light pattern and shadows are affected by this especially in Fresnels.

I have had two of these for over a year and I like them very much! I have written to many people trying to get a couple of extra batteries. What is ATG?

how long does the battery last ?

@@FBION I usually shoot real estate with them. So they are on and off, usually run at 80 to 100% and I would say I get a couple of hours. But I’ve never really tested it like that. I have many different lights I like these for a small bright light source.

Great review! I would actually love to see you compare this with the 120Dii in terms of brightness. Or you know, just tell me here ;)

Haha, I could do a full video eventually but I did already test it quickly side by side with the 120D and 120Dii. At 4ft away my light meter was giving more or less the same reading, with the Jinbei MAYBE coming in a tad less bright but still reading at the same f/stop. I wouldn't recommend the Aputure lights to anyone unless the end game was to eventually build a whole Aputure light kit and where you can take full advantage of their remote control ecosystem. It would be pretty cool to have a set where every light could be controlled by their remote control(s).

@@BryanWilkat Thanks for the reply! I was just about to pull the trigger when I realized the battery only lasts 30 minutes on full power. Do you really think at just 30 min it's worth getting the battery version vs the AC version? Thanks!

@@AlexEzorskyVFX This ATG is an hybrid light. Many pros don't need light to last longer than 30. The actor /or actress can't remember their lines or make mistakes a lot within 30 minutes. Nevertheless, you can use AC or DC power. Buy three or more batteries if you are an amateur or pros, for field works.

Thanks man. If you head over to Aliexpress and search "jinbei battery", there's a couple results that turn up the HD-610. I believe it's the same model battery as their photo flashes, they're supposed to be interchangeable.

How would it compare to the godox ones?

I haven't personally tried the Godox ones, they're tempting because of the price but I saw one review where it showed that they flicker at higher frame rates and this one doesn't seem to - so that's why I decided to try this brand instead. In a lower price range another notable light I bought is the Clar 120, it's bi-colour and cheaper but less portable.

Damn, what softbox are you using for jinbei, and how about fan noise?

I picked up one of the 36" Neewer ones on Amazon, it's very similar to the Aputure ones but 1/3 of the price and the diffusion inside is actually in a better spot for softer shadow fall off. As far as fan noise, it's there as with any of these LED's (the Aputure 120D/300D has it too) but you won't hear it on a mic unless you point the mic directly at it, like a foot or two away from it.

@@BryanWilkat i still looking a led ligjt such as godox 60w, nanlite 60, sokani, but still make a comparison, al right, for the softbox, aputire and neewer, how many percentage you give for the quality and the function?
