Hey, since I have two amazing tech experts that I admire captive in this thread, if you had to buy one inexpensive light to light a chromakey setup, would this be the one? Do me a favor when you aren't busy and search for Sock Puppet City. It's a fun little project I have been doing with my students. Would you light some of those videos any differently? Any suggestions would be great. 😃

My absolute favorite feature on the H198 was the seamless linking of multiple units. I know this adds more connectivity options and you can mount via 1/4" but that feature is brilliant and the main reason I went for the 198. That feature with this slimmer design and I'd be in heaven. Great review.

Nice review. When I first that it was bi-color, I was a bit disappointed, but knowing that you get full power at daylight is a clever way of doing it. As far as power output, it's like having a fixed color temp and using gels to get tungsten balance, except that you can use the knob instead of gels. Nice.
@kor95825 жыл бұрын
Very nice lights, I bought 2 of these, but I think we should mention that if you run it through USB-C, you'll get "only" 60% of the output (9 watts against 15 watts on NP-F batteries), not a deal breaker but it kind of disappointed me a bit.. Thanks for your videos Caleb!

That ballhead is seriously good news. I lost my Feelworld F7 monitor today, it took a nasty tumble because the ballhead that came with it didn't hold. Have to say though the manufactor is very responsive and I will buy from them again. thanks for the recommendation.

Love your reviews! I know they're mainly geared towards studio setups/talking heads/ three point lighting etc, and I know this may be a bit outside your wheelhouse, but would love to see you test these lights in "filmmaking scenarios". Like creating common scene setups for various genres/types of indie films and see how well they can achieve different lighting schemes for narrative filmmaking.

Thank you for this! I have three 198 lights, and I was hoping you'd compare the output to them, since you also use the 198. Interesting to see how much brighter the F7 are to its older brother.

@MattReportPodcast6 жыл бұрын
Could I use this as an alternative to a 120d or Godox sl-60w as a key light bounced off of a white element? I record mostly in my attic (converted to office) so room/height is limited and heat is a concern in the warmer months, which makes this attractive.

Hi Caleb, I do video in front of my pc. I'm looking to improve my light with to 2x Aputure F7. I wear glasses so I thought softbox will also be a most... Did you find a softbox that works great (I mean that it's easy to put on) with it?

First thing first... Thanks for your hard and valuable work on the channel Caleb. I've been watching your reviews for years now and i just wanted to thank you for putting some light in the " online shopping gear tuneI" It can be very dark there and you make it easier for us! The Apurture F7 seems to be a great deal but as I bought a Youngnu led light few years back with a "noisy fan" that roll too often, before buying I wonder if that is the case with the F7?

Thanx for great videos Caleb! At first I didn't really like the color quality of this light. CRI 95 is not that impressive, and the R9 under 80 is actually really bad. However, add 1/8 CTO and everything looks better, even the R9. I actually removed the front lens and mounted the CTO permanently on the inside. Now the light is usable for skin-tone. Only problem is that with the CTO the Kelvin scale does not match. But I don't care since I always eyeball it anyway. PEACE from Sweden!

I don't know if I missed it, but It would be good to include price in the reviews. At $ 98, it is nearly twice the price of the competition in terms of size. I myself was exited because I thought all this would be around same price the H198.

The thing I don't like about lights with clicking buttons is that if you have to make an adjustment while shooting a live video such as an interview, the clicking sound will be picked up on the audio track. Not the worst thing in the world, but it's definitely noticeable.
