Having commanded an M-60, as well as the A1 version, IRL, I find myself greatly amused by what this game has made of it, and the munitions they regularly carried in their basic load. Once NATO, and the WARSAW PACT had settled on HEAT, and APDS / Arrowhead Munitions as their favored Anti Tank rounds, there was little use in putting resources into upgrading the Armor. This was simply because no Tank, could carry enough armor to defeat either types of munitions. The Armor was redesigned to allow penetration without undue secondary projectiles, and limited the overall damage due to them. NATO 105mm HEAT was good for 18 inches of Armor, blow right through it. Tha APDS could perf 60 inches, yes 60 inches, of Armor. The best bet for the m-60 was to balance it for defensive fighting, and given it's superior Fire control, and accurate Gun it could far out range the Warsaw Pact Tanks, making the cupola a less than useful aiming point. But, this is all make believe in WOT, so hey whatever .

I served in the Army when we had the M60a3. It was a damn fine tank. Mobile and took a beating. Then, of course, the M1 came along.

The M60A3 is the tank I crewed IRL in the 80's. It was an utter beast, with a remarkable gunnery computer for its time that could guarantee a hit while stationary and gave about a 95% chance of hitting while on the move. Also could fire an array of rounds: HEAT, HE, APDS, White Phosphorous, and Anti-personnel (set the range for where the enemy infantry is and the warhead would open up in front of them unleashing hundreds of steel flechettes to tear through them, kind of like a claymore moving at supersonic speed). Plus it had a coaxial machine gun for the gunner and the M85 .50 cal for the commander inside the cupola.

I've had this tank for a few years now and i have to say this is the most accurate and thorough comparison Ive seen lately. Most people who talked about it just concluded that its a "faster but less armored Patton" and they leave it at that. But really these little differences in gun handling, terrain resistance, dispersion and engine power combined make it really different from a Patton. Its more like a leopard than a Patton. Edit because i wrote this before watching the whole video: I'm mostly a solo player but Ive played clan wars A LOT. I have the VK72, this and the 907. and i love the bond shop idea. First of all i got to buy 3 tier 8 premiums as soon as they launched it just from what i accumulated by playing, who wouldnt love that? And in regards to the tier 10 cw reward tanks, lets be real.. 15000 bond takes way way more time and commitment to get than if you get it by playing the campaign from start to end. Remember i got the vk, m60, and 907 for 4k each. so the three tanks cost me less than the cost of one tank in the bond shop. I think its more than fair.

When I heard about a M60 in WoT, I imagined the turret was going to be something of a design like the M60A2/A3. Magach series for Israel tech tree for more heavy Patton cousins :3c

I was happy to pick up the M60 during my 2nd Clan Wars campaign, even before I got up to the M48 Patton. I got so used to the M60 that it felt kinda odd how the M48 handled.

I was nearing 30k bonds when the shop opened the possibility to buy tanks for bonds. That's almost every bond I ever earned since the introduction of bonds. Didn't hesitate to buy the M60 and the Pz IV hydrostat. Still have 10k left. Feels good. Haven't played either of them. As I am a tank collector (504 tanks in the garage, with 4 left to buy) I am very pleased WG introduced this.

Composite applique armor panels was intended to be fitted to the hull so ya the armor isn't real good as is suppose to be 155mm on the front glacis so its a nerfed version.

That M60 though... I'd save up for it, thanks for the video QB!

Bought the M60 two days ago. First round 4k damage Tier X only. Never played Tier X Medium befor (only E100) Dont regret it. By the way i didnt played Ranked. Only Frontline to VII, some Events and Steel Hunter to Rank 25...

Like this tank. Got it yesterday. I am not in (and have no want to be) in a clan, and since I play with friends (platooning) in the evenings and you cant platoon in ranked battles ranked battles are not available at times I can play it..so I was limited(all be it self limited) to the "standard" bond shop..Love this tank! took out a 279e from the front last night first battle by using the 350 pen "gold" rounds right through his front armor..he never even shot back..coiuldnt see me..the gun handling is awesome as you said in video....And since I didnt really have anything else to spend bonds on(other than the 121 and this for ME and my play style is a far superior tank). Thanks for the review!

If a previous reward tank goes into that shop there could be the chance that at some point something like the super donkerer could come in there as well

Big notice, if u are willing to get into a clan for get the tank rewards even if u qualify between the ones that can get it, it won’t be free, it will cost 4K bonds. And if u want to participate to the auction usually the minimum is between 25k-30k in order to be in the players that win the auction.

I bought a Liberté and I'm feeling fine. It makes credits, it's good and it was cheap. The only other tank I'm looking for to buy is the Auful Panther if it's ever coming back.

as someone who played beta, and then san an ungodly amount of time into Tanks before finally finding my home in Warships; I really enjoy your vids in the context of watching someone who cares about the game and the stat of things and the playerbase keep me up to date on whats gong on these days. I stopped playing when light tanks became a thing.

QB, in Warships WeeGee gives us a heads up usually with the patch prior to the patch removing a ship from the Armory. I would expect the same thing here. They even gave a couple of months notice for Kronstadt and Musashi.

Curious on the 121B view coming as it was my first clan wars reward pick (in hindsight a terrible mistake compared to what I could have picked but I just liked its tree version).

I would like to know if you know if there will be a tank more apart from the ones there are at this moment for bonds, since I am interested in the heavy German VK 72.01 (K) and I would not want to spend my accumulated bonuses. This is good for those who cannot dedicate so many hours to the game, whether for work, family or others. and many times being able to participate in tournaments is difficult due to time issues. If you know the answer I would be very grateful.

3-22 2024 here, M60 *Experimental Survival T3/Bond Vents/Bond Rammer, excellent crew. Dont let the haters hate, the M60 is a buzzsaw once you have it set up right. Its fast and agile, and its gun is a killer with HEAT at 350 PEN and high velocity AP if you use that. Reloads in 6.6 seconds at Tier X. Its turret is well capable of bouncing a lot of shots hull down. Its rotation speed is fast so combined with the quick reload you are constantly swinging your turret around taking snapshots so you end up bouncing a lot of stuff because it's hard for anyone to aim at the little cupola. (A weakness, but honestly, it would be too strong without it) This tank has a jab, so when you get hit, you can almost always answer back because the gun is so smooth. If you catch somebody still or tracked, you are gonna tear them a new doublewide bluetooth activated A-hole quick with about 3000 DPM of lazer precise shells from that things gun. You can manuever kill other players with crazy feats of driving, so for those that understand that a tanks engine is just as important as the gun, well, this is that tank. Example: I charged a tank from behind a hill, right click locked him estimated his chances of hitting a tank doing 50KPh at him from over a short hill and then manged a hard left drifting powerslide to dodge his inevitable shot (he missed) and then put a round up his tailpipe for the kill without even hardly slowing down and escaped back over the hill in full view of 2 of his teamates. Their shots hitting dirt nearby as I disappeared back over the hill. And then hit 60 KPh to reappear across the map 30 seconds later, shooting at their flanks. The Leopard is faster, but the M60 is stronger and actually feels faster in acceleration, so it's functionally faster in a fight. The Leo would beat it in a 3 mile run but get ripped apart in a typical circling knife fight in WOT. The tank is not invulnerable, so use your equipment and skill training to help there. If you can avoid getting tracked, and you can just run away from situations that don't favor you .The tank really is so fast you can just exit most situations that you dont like. People will be gunning for you it's kind of a flex tank that won't be seen all the time and people know how dangerous the gun is so they will be trying to send you to the garage as soon as possible. Keep that in mind and try to play smart. At the same time feel confident taking risks and getting in the one or two extra shots you couldn't in other tanks for the finishing kills you will rarely miss. The camouflage is poor but the view range is good so make use of bushes and terrain but that being said this is not a sniping tank, this is a boxer with golden glove hands and footwork but a medium chin. Treat it that way, get up in people's business and make them react and think about what to do and if they don't have a plan you'll inflict 1,000 damage on them before they even get a shot off. It would be crazy not to take an M60 to your front seriously in WOT so wade into battle with that kind of confidence if your in one, knowing that most people are going to have to give pause to regard the situation if you are the threat. This will also open up big opportunities for your teamates. Because you can kind of cruise the reef so to speak pecking at people along the whole battle line supporting buddies helping them out of trouble or just distracting superior enemies with your presence and helping a teamate reposition, and late in the game if you manage to stay healthy while enemies have not then the M60 is truly a closer, because you are going to hurt people with that gun. And can sometimes just go around sweeping up the late game survivors. Good luck have fun.

I am certainly happy that these tanks are available in the shop, and I do wish that the Obj. 907 and Chieftain would be there too. It is just toxic to reserve the best vehicles for the best players.

4 Months Later and the M60 is IN The Garage.... Added it Lastnight after 3 Rounds in the T30 pushed me Over the Top.... Working out a Crew for it amd getting the Equipment Later when I get Home.....

Question what is the best gear to put on this tank to max out its DPM and spotting?

WoWs has a similar shop and when they remove a ship from it they do a shoutout about a month before it happens. They might come back but no one outside WG knows.

Can anyone explain how at 3:27 the M60 has worse traverse on soft, compared to the M48 Patton? I thought that tank traverse on different surfaces is calculated using power/weight and terrain resist. Or is effective tank traverse just another value, not calculated by any formula (just set by WG balans team)?

Great idea in that MANY players of NA WOT actually were crew of the M60. Nice to play a tank you actually drove in real life.

I do kinda hope that wg either lowers the price just slightly on the tier 10s or put more ways to get bonds in the game for the bond shop.

I like it myself, I got Sand river for my One Game and that Map was Perfect for it... It's Armor is it's Abikity to NOT Get Hit in the First Place... The Gun was Penning an IS7 on Snap Shots in the Face, the 430U Was also Fair Game.... It was Quick enough to get In and Out of Trouble and be a General Nuisance.... I really didn't look at the VR until everyone started Talking about it and I can't recall what Equipment I had on it, but if I recall I'd used my 4 Skill T.Bolt Crew..... Sit Aware was the Radio Guys First Skikl and the Commander was 80some% into Recon.... Range makes up for Bad Camo, if they can't See you, they can't Shoot you..... Could be the other reason i never truely Tested the Armor, I didn't have to......

I really hope that they will release another tier 10 tank like the obj 907 or chieftain

Hm, the shape of the upper front hull armour doesn't look right. The armour around the driver's hatch should be sloped, but it looks like it's completely horizontal on the in-game 3D model.

For people wondering if they should get it I think that just get the tech tree leopard I. I have M60, I got it from cw. Tank requires skill to play it has very bad camo and it is huge with that cupola that people can shoot before you will when poking hills. 907 in the other hand if that comes up it really is a good idea to get it.

Bond shop is a good idea. I bought a Guard and am saving the rest in case they add some better premiums like Skorpion.

Quicky Baby, do not know if you reply to these comments but i drove the M60 series tanks on active duty in the US Army. She was a reliable tank with a damn good British made 105mm main gun. She was not fast, 35 MPH downhill with the wind behind you. When she was upgraded to the TTS, Tank Thermal Sight, she became a very deadly gun platform so she treat her nicely ok?

Thing is, the turret tumor isn't that bad, all things considered. The M60 is a "medium" (lol) tank. Which means that all the enemies it faces will be slinging gold 90% of the time anyway, so it's not like having a massive weakness on top of the turret matters since you'll be getting penned everywhere anyway barring lucky ricochets. All together though, I'm snot surprised at all at how lackluster the M60 is. It's being implemented by a russian developer after all.

In blitz the T110E5, M60, M48 all had their commanders cupola removed making it near impossible to pen

M60 is more of a glass cannon version of the M48A5 Patton. Personally, I really enjoy it. I've never played the regular one so I had no idea how I was going to play it in the first place. No experience of playing any other American medium tank at high tiers. M60, for me as a Very Good to Great player by xvm stats, has to be one of the most enjoyable tanks to play for Randoms, Skirmishes or even Ranked. This is just what I procced from the experience I've had with the M60. I cannot know how others would feel about the M60, but I would recommend it for my part.

I play on xbox. On the WOT store from xbox these reward vehicles are already availible. Yet they each cost 450k free xp
