I have a ranger raptor got it delivered may 1st, straight 93 octane, I hit 0-60 4.8 seconds and that ain’t no BS

Damn, it is so weird ford would do that. I heard about plastic intake on older model vehicles that caused failure. You'd think they'd learned. I Google and it said raptor doesn't have plastic oil pan and drain plug.

@@user-ue2ut8sw5s Unfortunately everything has gone up 20-50%. Your dollar no longer goes as far as it used to. Most places hit you up for 3% just for using your credit card. You don't have to pay dealer marksups/addons but overall msrp are no different than the overpriced milk you put in your cart. That is the world right now. My idea was most of the consumers don't needs a desert prerunner. I'd rather have towing prioritized package with larger 3.0 (yes I know the 2.7 is coming) and it wouldn't hurt to be comfy. Also Ford doesn't have a model that competes with the GMC Canyon Denali as far as luxury which seems to me to be nicer than Lariat level. Since people are shying away from full size trucks it makes sense to try to fill that void. Plus as more people shift to Ranger it would push ford into having more inventory. Just depends on if they want to let go of the "F150 Best Selling" title or not and allow the ranger to step up instead of them intentionally crippling it to protect F150.

I guess it all depends on your POV and what you want. Do you want the best options you can get per cost ratio in general off road options? Yes, this is arguably the best Midsized fully loaded for the cost. But there are questions. Do you event want to go off road? Do you want do only do spectifc types of off road? Do you want to just want price to be the limit? Do you just bow down to a brand? Do you prefer off road comfort vs on road comfort? Do you not care bed space? Do you only care about towing? There's all kinds of variables, but IMO, if you want an off road midsized truck that is a jack of all trades with all the options, it is the best.

Some KZfaqrs are clocking as low as 5.3 seconds for 0-60 time in 4wd high. Were you running it in 2wd for your time?

You guys were mentioning acceleration. Don't think it's enough to be the difference but the Ranger Raptor is over 5,000 pounds and the Bronco Raptor is under. Around a 400 or 500 pound difference.

Bronco Raptor is 5733 and the Ranger Raptor is 5325 the ranger is 400 pounds Lighter. I bet it had 87 octane because the fuel door has 87 which slows it down allot. A aussie car sight did a test and the octane made a big difference in performance.

The vents in the hood aren’t functional. My ranger has the bottle opener on the tailgate? Also. Those door handles have been like that since the first gen super duty and so on

You guys are the only ones I've seen saying it's slower that the Bronco Raptor. Interesting.....I can't see how it's slower, but thanks for sharing.

We feel the same way, after thinking it over we suspect this truck had 87 octane in it which would help explain it.

@TexasTruckChannel that would definitely make sense. I've seen putting premium gas in actually makes a pretty significant difference in power all things considered.

Totally. Ford does a good job with advancing timing when it detects higher octanes. We are sure that had something to do with it.

Y'all need to buy one for a long term test review. I love the Ranger Raptor in theory but with needing to haul 5 people around, it's just too small. F150 Raptor it is for me.

I have just put a no obligation order in at my favorite local dealership (NO MARKUP BTW!!!) for pretty much the exact same truck that is being reviewed here. I can't wait to try this out BUT i would be potentially trading in my 2023 F150 Raptor. The F150 Raptor was always my dream truck but I think the Ranger Raptor might fit my lifestyle a bit more. I will really have to do some deep thinking on this. I am glad though that finally there was a reviewer that was taller than 6' exactly. It seems almost every review on youtube is done by someone exactly 6' tall. I am 6'3" normal build so this is nice to know i will likely fit comfortably. Can you comment on that? Also, I would be curious as to if there is anyone that has gone from an F150 Raptor to a Ranger Raptor and how that transition has been. Thanks!

Hi, yes I am 6-4 and fit very well in the ranger raptor. Which is a nice surprise. Also I have owned a Gen 1 raptor before and reviewed all of the raptors. I would be proud to have the Ranger raptor. Especially with its balance of ability and smaller foot print. It can still run Jeep width trails that the big boys can’t. -Bryan

This compared to the new ZR2 what we taking people ? Remember the ZR2 is cheaper. Also has both front and rear lockers. and umm AC seats.

Nope the ranger raptor has superior suspension and a V6. ZR2 is a nice truck but isn't in the same league

@@marklihsu I could see that. I would have loved a v6 turbo in the ZR2. I’m just thinking for a lil more than that ranger tho you can get a ZR2 bison. Stock it comes with 35in tires and a lot more off road goodies. AEV overhaul

@@marklihsu Same torque numbers, Raptor has more HP. DSS vs Live valve is basicaly a wash. Do you want to pay 10 grand more for the HP is end question. I think they are both great trucks. Either the Bison should have got a turbo 6 or the Raptor should have come with 35's then there'd be little debate but they'd also both be 70 grand.

That’s because the Amorok is built on the Ford T6 (Ranger) platform. There is some part sharing between them.

I bet it had 87 octane in it that would have slowed it down allot. Another youtuber did a real world test and did a 0-60 time in 5.2 so I bet you had 87 octane in it. Because it say 87 on the fuel door they been putting 87 octane in them, when it will run much better on the 93 octane. A Aussie car sight did a test and the octane made a big difference in performance. Blahaha no need to whine! your little ZR2 has 100 less horsepower and looks like an autobot in a transformers movie.. everyone likes different things… so if your into into heavy, low HP, slow moving transformers toys... by all means, Enjoy your ZR2. 👍🏼

I have a canyon loaner right now. The engine is okay but it has a lot of turbo lag and engine vibration for my taste. The suspension is also pretty stiff and busy. I would say the ranger 2.7 or raptor are better. The I4 ranger has the same tubo lag and engine vibration issue.
