My buddy recently found an ad for a pressure washer for sale. It was a big commercial unit at 4500 psi or something crazy and the dude planned to strip paint off the siding of his house with it. The ad stated that he blew some of the siding off his house AND managed to land himself in the hospital after putting his hand in front of the nozzle. I thought it was funny. Some people should stick to hand tools.

Based on Matt's tyre sizes and diff ratios, the front will outpace the rear by only 0.82%. That assumes the front and rear tyre rolling diameters are exactly 42 and 35 inches which will vary all the time with pressure, load and wear. That's pretty close, probably closer than other off road vehicles with the same tyres and diffs and uneven tyre wear or load from front to back.

A reporter once asked the great Mickey Thompson, "What's it like to drive the Baja 1000?" Mickey's response, "Try to imagine an all-day plane crash" Many years ago, about 45 of 'em, I was wrenching in a shop that did nothing but air-cooled Volkswagens. K&N Filters brought their VW Thing Baja Pre-runner in for us to work on the engine. Surprised me that it wasn't as "caged" as I'd expected. So, I figure they used it more for route checking, than running at speed. Keep up the great work, Matt and crew. We love it. Kolby, you're doing fine with the camera.

For the younger generation . . . Good design is based on the K.I.S.S. principle = "Keep it Simple, Stupid" or "Keep it Simply Stupid", that is, make it uncomplicated, or to simplify things as much as possible, the acronym first used by Kelly Johnson, 1960, lead engineer at the Lockheed Skunk Works. Am I the only one who uses Straps when lowering something from under a vehicle? Just one or two cam buckle tie-down straps from frame rail to frame rail to ensure that nothing drops on you. The first time I had to lower a transmission from under a car without a transmission jack I learned to use straps to catch stuff from dropping too quickly. Whether it's a gas tank, axle, transmission, or those long plates under the rollback bed, it's good to have the added safety. One minute you're pulling and twisting to get it to break loose, and then it can drop suddenly. You can get in a bad spot hurt yourself or damage the part.

My dad tells a story about removing the trans from his '87 Camry. He was laying under it, intending to get the bolts loose and drop it down by himself, but he was not expecting how heavy it was and it squeezed the breath out of him. @@Buck1954 Same for me, I was watching a video on Jay Leno's channel about a $300,000 dollar 1957 resto-mod, it's a beautiful car, but all I could see was that the body molding didn't line up perfectly across the door.

Simply Functional! That sounds like a Value Added Benefit! You should name that 6X6 "Babe" after Paul Bunyan's Ox! His 🐃 was gigantic and blue and could pull a forest of trees on a sled! 🗿❤😂

Love that in addition to building into the lives of your young crew, you are doing on your off time leading camps. I remember you doing that last year, also. It looked like the kids were having tons of fun & loved the T-shirt, Jamie! Great explanatory story line to share with your subscribers what you are doing, and why, Matt! This was a really great video!

Another reason for the "rocker" in a tandem suspension is to keep weight on the axle that has dropped off on an uneven surface.. Without the "rocker" the axle carrying the weight will have traction but the axle that has dropped off will have limited or no traction.. The "rocker" has its benefits...

I’ll be looking forward to your Baja run. I used to work for Vic Hickey in Ventura, CA who built the Baja Boot back in the late 60’s and the Banshee for James Garner. My first race working pit crew with Vic was the Mint 400 circa 1970.

You can tell Matt dun gradjiated the 5th grade cause he knows words like "Monet",(Not the stuff you spend). Plus he can walk and chew pie at the same time.Unlike many keyboard mechanics, he thinks things through several times Before he talks about them, and puts it on paper. Keep up the 'Okay work" Matt.
