My 3060ti chugs for 1080p. Got it a year ago and while 8GB of vRAM may be in issue in theory, it’s hasn’t been an issue for me at all. There aren’t any GPUs on the market yet to compel me to spend a a fortune replacing it.

@@FATMAC2 RTX 3060 was available in 8GB and later, 12 GB. The RTX 3060ti was only offered with 8GB. The 3060ti is still superior to 3060 12GB version. (although, I don't know if that is true for work applications like using Blender or DaVinci Resolve?)

3060ti 8gb, 32gb, i5-12400F here. It works awesome for almost all game entirely maxed out on 1080. Recently upgraded my monitor to a 27" 1440p and it gives really nice frames still. Although you obv have to crank it down in more demanding games

All I'we adjusted on my 3060ti is downclocked the watt usage and for some odd reason I got increased 15-20 fps and more stability.

Great video. My 3060 TI is still doing a great job for 2K gaming. I feel like a bit of a chump for paying $1300 AUD at the height of the pandemic but that was the best value RTX card at the time. Slightly reducing clouds, shadows, smoke or fog effects will give you a huge bump in FPS and most folks will barely see the difference. My only concern is that it was very much a mid-tier card priced as a top-tier card so it's not going to have the longevity of the old 980 TI / 1080 cards, especially if you want settings on max or want to play an RTX heavy game.

The only good thing about the inflated cost of graphics cards was, that when my GTX 780ti had died (it was in need of retirement anyway) I decided to buy my first laptop( I ended up getting a 2020 model of the Lenovo Legion-5), instead of just getting a new card. It is crazy to think that 'budget' cards were going for over a thousand dollars.

@@thorfinnthegoatmc I'm not sure if that was directed at me, but mine is AOC AG271QG. It's from 2017 but it's still doing well, never dropped a pixel and has G-Sync, DVI and HDMI ports and doesn't look too 'gamer'.

Got my 3060ti for $314 on Amazon renewed back before the end of the price hikes and before the 4060 was released. Still running strong running 2k games at fairly high frames depending on the title and settings. Runs MW3 at 2k native with over 110 fps. Custom settings to get the balance of quality image and high frames.

No mate, competitive shooters are done at 1080p with a 24 inch high refresh monitor for faster response times and frame rates, the high fps smoothness is more like bonus. At 2K 110fps you are at a severe response time disadvantage. A decent player will shoot you twice before your first round leaves the barrel because of response time lag of 2K.

Otherwise if you're playing casually with your friends my setup has just the right balance of quality image fidelity at a high enough frame rate to run smoothly and not be completely disadvantage. (Honestly I was underselling my fps because I have a 165hz monitor and I will usually stay above 150, but that is with some fine tuning so for the average person they could have a solid 110fps)

I’ve been using the Asus Dual 3060ti V2 OC for a little over a year, it’s quiet and productive, 160-170 W, overclocked to 1905 megahertz, heats up to 60°+/-2°. This is a great GPU for my needs so far. At 1440p, this is enough for smooth gameplay on high settings. Considering the fact that modern games, firstly, do not deserve my attention, and secondly, many of them are not friendly with optimization, when the quality of graphics is at the level of 2020, perhaps I have no desire to change it in the near future. In addition, at 1440p it shows results similar to the 4060ti in native, which is the benchmark, so at least until the PTX 50xx comes out, it can be safely used while waiting for truly worthy gaming new products.

3060ti is still good no need to upgrade it, i have built my new rig with a used 3060ti and im planning on selling my pc, if i make profit off it, i will buy same build with the used 4070 but if if my pc isn't sold with profit enough to buy used 4070 i'm deffinetely keeping it, so far at 2k its doing great.

I bought a used 3060ti for 200€ a week ago. I paired it with 5900x and 64Gb ram which I also sniped on ebay for a super good price. Still haven't tested it out as I didn't have time to do so. I hope I didn't make a mistake and that I'll be able to play new games on decent settings.

The 3060 ti 8GB VRAM buffer remains a problem and the 6700XT 12GB used is $250. The 6700XT processor is the same as the 6750XT, you can do the factory OC yourself. The memory OC is not quite as fast but near enough to perform the same. The real killer of the 3060 ti, 3070, and 4060ti is the 6700XT with its almost criminally low used price. Great work!

hold on to your 3060 ti for a future 5060 or 5060 TI/Super. the 40 series mainstream cards are bad since they only offer 8gb/12gb and doesn't give significant performance uplift. hope the price to performance ratio in the next gen will be better.

I bought ryzen 5 7500f and 3060 Ti 2 months ago around the new year, i cant complain abt anything… So good combo, with lots of future upgrades and powerful. I think the 3060/3060 Ti is the best graphics card made ever by nvidia. It’s still a great choice, even if it sucks in price to performance. Im grateful for what i have and happy what i bought.

In my opinion it's still good card for 1080p and 1440p, if you did some oc to this card it can play some games in 4k. Biggests issues for me is 8gb of vram and big tdp.

If you're buying brand new, I would say yes, but you can find the 3060 Ti for way less when used. It really depends on pricing, though.

they labeled this hardware old 2 years after its release. It's annoying how many tech channels are doing this and making you buy GPU every release cycle. I remember when 1080 was a god GPU that even when RTX is already released, 1080 still walked along the first generation RTX.

@@prestomagicislife336 If you play 1080 then yes. If you play 4K only if you play stuff like L4D2, Eve and Endless Space 2. If you play 3440×1440 like me, some games must be set med-low or med-hi and get ~250fps in L4D2, 120 in Eve, 70-90 in GTFO, 100 in Fallout 4.

I chose a new 3060ti, even though the 4xxx were available. No buyer's remorse, but I would have purchased an RX6700xt, if I were to choose right now. The current generation of cards (AMD & Nvidia) kinda suck, unless power efficiency and thermals are your thing. I don't think I will support Nvidia again. Even when their products are better, they are run by Jerks. I think about, EVGA. I think about the 'Hardware Unboxed' drama. To support that behavior would be like sticking with Jay Leno after the way he treated Conan O'Brien. Super happy that, Intel is improving, and sticking in there! (I was afraid they were going to quit, and drop out of the graphic card arena) I would much rather choose between, AMD & Intel.

You don’t need too add any power. My stock 3060ti overclocked 10% in fps just upping the frequency x2. 80/1000 Went from 99-102 fps all the way to 110-113fps in MW3. Recommend you put your fan speed too 100% and using fresh thermal paste and keeping an eye on your temperature when attempting this.

If all you care about is 60+fps on 1080p on new triple A games and 144fps on competitive games a 4070 super wouldn't do anything for you but if someone is looking to upgrade to 1440p or wants push higher frames for 240hz panel for example 4070 super would be attractive to them.

The 4060ti is obviously the best option in this comparison. Still, it's hard to get excited about a GPU that only outperforms its more than 3 year old predecessor by around 15% and for some reason only has 8GB VRAM on a GPU released in 2023. Honestly, I think if you're shopping at the $400 price point, the 7700XT is probably the better bet. It costs a bit more, but outperforms the 4060ti by around 25%.

@@HardcoreCasualGW2 7700xt is quite tier above 4060 ti and also expensive, at least here. 4060 ti is great card, I had it for a while to hold off a couple of months and few days ago I sold it, put another 1.4k$ or so to get 4090. 4060 ti makes a lot sense for those who are in the market to get a 1080p card, unless and of course you can get 3060 ti cheaper for less than 300$.
