British anthems Rule, Britannia and Land of Hope and Glory could be axed from the BBC Proms amid the Black Lives Matter movement, an insider has claimed. The broadcaster is considering dropping the patriotic songs from the Last Night concert due to fears of criticism because of their apparent links to colonialism and slavery.

The other patriotic songs I enjoy are of course just as controversial. Jerusalem has lyrics from a religious mystic who almost nobody agrees with about anything. I vow to the my country is about deep sacrifice in war for the nation which sends a lot of shivers down spines. Rule Britannia is arguably the least offensive because it is about a mood and moment of triumph for a nation, self-confidence. It is the least offensive or challenging to me, spiritually. But I love them all.

At the end of the day they're just patriotic songs. Songs in remembrance of night, as David wrought. The fact people are borderline hysterical and divided about them is worrying for the island.

Only the uneducated and ignorant people will not understand and feel uncomfortable. Once they learn the truth about this song then they should join the rest of us and celebrate it 😂😂😂😂😂
