Jacoby Matthews isn't some huge loss for us. He never lived up to his recruitment rating when he was here. And he was asked to find another place to play ball. When the new staff got here, he never bought into the program. He was too used to the country club mentality of the Jimbo era. This is addition by subtraction.

The biggest challenge for A&M will be getting acclimated to a new coaching staff and new system with so many new players. People are leaving not because of the program; they are leaving because they are realizing they don't fit in for some reason and won't get playing time. Key facts about Texas A&M, despite the portal transfers: 1. Texas A&M ranks #1 in the SEC for returning production; 2. Texas A&M ranked #2 for portal recruits. 3. This is still a top 10 roster talent. 4. 22 of the players from the #1 All-time recruiting class are still on campus. 5. Vegas has Conner Weigman as 8th best odds for winning the Heisman. 6. The Aggies have the deepest RB room with 3 running backs who could start at most programs. 7. The DL acquired, already stout, acquired nearly 30 sacks from the portal and will be the strength of the defense. 8. A&M weaknesses or "question marks" will be at LB depth; WR production; O-line unit.

Wow! Someone who came with FACTS! Enough said. Everyone else is completely clueless about this program. We have trimmed almost ALL the fat. Some of that fat was absolutely created by Jimbo Fisher. He treated 5 stars with golden gloves and created a terrible work culture. And Texas Horns talking? Please. Try looking at the current status of your baseball program. And be smart, keep your head down 1st year in SEC. Cause you have no clue what is coming. SEC is no Big 12.

I would argue aTm IS the state school. Academically aTm is rated higher at most major categories than UT. We have more students, bigger stadiums, the only Tier 1 Biology lab in the state. Also, since aTm was able to hand out full ride schorships in 1971, aTm has beating UT in more head to head football games. Oh yea, this spring, aTm placed 5th at nationals in track and UT 18th. The Aggies demolished UT in Austin in front of a record crowd in baseball a month ago. aTm is has had more 1st and 2nd round draft picks than UT over the last 2 decades and has had more wins in football over the last 17 years. To say that UT is the top Texas school is pretty ignorant. As is stands right now Jimbo had more wins in his first 3 years than Stark does. You forget aTm finished 4th in the nation in Jimbos 3rd year.

Aggs lost 19 players to the portal while UT has lost 24. Do your research before you compare them to UT. If you wanna compare aTm to other schools in the portal you will see that they are not even close to being a school who lost the most players.

@@toppedoff The heat? The only thing that may hurt is if there's rain in the forecast with high chance of "humidity." Other than that it'll be 90-95 with the sun going down. I've played in that Texas heat in mid day with temp up to 110. Dry heat is nothing compare to 85 degree weather with 85%+ humidity. NOTHING!!! A&M defense is better? Bro stop! ND defense is pretty much ranked top 5 in every major category. A&M has an average defense outside of their DL group. A&M transfers coming in and out and it's all gonna be ready by week 1 against ND? Not only to beat ND but whoop ND? Nobody has "whooped" ND in like 5 yrs but A&M is gonna do it with a team that's in rebuild mode? Gotcha Home field advantage? I'll give you that but that alone wont get you more than 3 points. Elko is an outstanding coach but he's not gonna have his team the way he wants it by week 1. No way, no how. A&M does not have the WRs to open up the field against an all-star secondary like ND. Good luck 👍 ☘

As a Sooner, I think a lot of you SEC guys are overlooking the dramatic impact of changing coaching staff. Give your teams a year or two to rebuild. If you expect them to get better in the first year you’re smokin crack

That was confusing….he said of A&M, “we may not be the state school”. I don’t know what he meant. A&M was the first state school in Texas. It is the oldest and largest state school in Texas (and largest in the nation). What did he mean?

Yes, not only that, but keep in mind, kids in Texas who wanted to avoid military inscription went to UT; while the Aggies were busy defending the country during WWI, WWII, Korea and Vietnam, those cowards at TU were draft-dodging while taking a liberal arts classes. That is a major reason why our football teams were depleted throughout the years until the mid-70's. If you look at the modern era since 1975 (end of Vietnam war) Texas A&M holds a 19-18 edge over Texas. This something most Texas fans don't understand when they shout "...76-37 all time...". If you count the non-war eras, the record is much closer; particularly since the end of the Vietnam war.
