I was raised in the UMC and the associate/youth pastor we had when I was going through confirmation would always pray, "Our Father or Mother...." This would have been late 1970s and/or early 1980s, so this has been creeping into the UMC for along time. Even at that young age, I knew that was wrong and only prayed as Jesus taught us. Thankfully, I am now in a Bible-teaching, Bible- believing church.

I just sent a letter to my Methodist minister, withdrawing my membership. It makes me sad, but I will not condone this MESS!!

From 3:50-5:15 sounds like vice principals at the inner city middle school I taught at telling the 11-15 year olds how to behave with each other at school. For this to be adults, at a church leaders gathering is mind boggling for me to hear.

Time for the UMC to have a Bible study on the book of Amos. If God punished Judah and Israel for their faithlessness, how much more would he punish us, this side of the resurrection, for the faithlessness of Christ’s church. “For his invisible attributes, namely, his eternal power and divine nature, have been clearly perceived, ever since the creation of the world, in the things that have been made. So they are without excuse.” (Romans 1:20 ESV).

My daughter and I were wondering why my mother said something about Hindus and Muslims being in heaven the other day until I saw your video about the Hindu deity on stage. I didn't know about this stuff at the time, but I said to her, "Mom there will be people from every tribe, tongue and nation in heaven but only if they believe in the biblical Lord Jesus Christ. They won't be there if they still believe their false religions." Please pray for my mom Cindy to understand and love the truth and leave the bondage of the UMC and her "healing ministry" there.

The UMC has their Book Of Discipline, the Catholic Church has their Catachism. We have the BIBLE! We don't need any denominations own doctrinal books. The Bible teaches we are NOT to add or take away from God's Word!

Former United Methodist here. The true believers of Jesus need to unite whether we be Baptist, Methodist, or Presbyterian (like J. Vernon McGee).

The UMC doesn't have to come up with its own replacements of the Lord's Prayer and the Apostles' Creed. Two United Church of Christ ministers have already written them. One is "the Lord's Prayer for Transgender Awareness" by Kim Sorrells and the other is the "Sparkle Creed" by Rachel Small-Stokes.

This is what happens when you abuse the definition of love, you get carried away into strange doctrines.

Yesterday, we had a Mother's Day sermon. We prayed the Lord's Prayer, as it was written by Henry VIII. (I learned that from watching "The Tudors.") But, my church had a seminary intern back in the 1970s who believed that God is a father for men, and a mother for women. I could hear his wife saying, "Our Mother, who art..." The problem with that is many women I know are closer to their fathers than their mothers. I'll be the first to say that I act more like my mother than my father.

She may seem to suggest that all people should avoid exclusively male language for God, but does not specifically say that. I fully agree that if (when is more like it) the UMC continues to bow to mankind’s desires, (some are uncomfortable using the word father due to childhood trauma and upbringing) it will result in sliding further and further down the apostasy slope. Changing the Lord’s Prayer; the words of institution for baptism; Jesus’ many references to the Father are certainly on the to-do list. It’s already happening in other mainline denominations. There is no such thing as a progressive Christian; for the progressive loves the world and the things of the world (including themselves) and have not the Father.
