I once said that God is a scientist in one of my talks and had an interesting exchange with someone afterwards that could be boiled down to skepticism. What I failed to make clear is that there is no way that the creator of the universe ISN'T a scientist. God is the perfect scientist.
@GarySaint-xm6tr
@GarySaint-xm6tr 4 ай бұрын
The skepticism that God is not a scientist is the incorrect belief that God created natural laws, instead of natural laws have always existed, and God understands them, and how to work with them perfectly.

Maybe more of an engineer than scientist "Science is the body of knowledge that explores the physical and natural world. Engineering is the application of knowledge in order to design, build and maintain a product or a process that solves a problem and fulfills a need (i.e. a technology)."

I couldn't help but notice that the Cemetery scenes were filmed in my home town of American Fork, Utah where many of my loved ones are laid to rest. It meant so much to me to hear the comforting words of Eternal Life and Hope of the Resurrection all made possible by our Savior Jesus Christ.

I have also started to think along these lines: Who are we to say that there is not a being in the vast universe that has the knowledge and the means to create an earth for the purposes of His children? We have NO IDEA about the secrets of the universe and the capabilities of the beings in the universe.

Having faith when you are a person of science is not an easy task. I fact, I believe that it's harder to have faith when you are involved with any scientific endeavor, because we are trained to be skeptical. However, being skeptical doesn't mean being unbeliever, but unfortunately many in science don't understand that. Because of our training, we always have the "what if" question flying around in our minds, and that may open many very exciting opportunities to learn. Science is about how, but faith is about why. How and why can indeed walk and work together. I'm glad that Dr. Allred expressed his thoughts and testimony. He is very passionate about both Physics and the Gospel, and having him as a teacher at BYU was a wonderful experience.

My undergrad was in physics. My takeaway after years of study was we don't really know much about our universe. Certainly not enough to reject the Supreme Creator. It takes more faith to believe in particles than in our Creator.

@@hahabarkim doing that right now staring at the food on my plate. Now i know the secrets of the universe🤦‍♂️ Like he said, it takes just as much faith to believe everything came from nothing, as it does to believe in a creator. Neither propositions can be observed. Just be honest with yourself and admit you live by as much faith as the rest of us and don’t be so arrogant to think anyone has the answer. We both dont know and put our faith in different things. But we both live by faith.

Thank you very much for making this video. Science and scriptures denotes there is a God. You are a blessings to all of us. I love what Pres Nelson said; Understand that in the absence of experiences with God, one can doubt the existence of God. So, put yourself in a position to begin having experiences with Him. Humble yourself. Pray to have eyes to see God’s hand in your life and in the world around you. Ask Him to tell you if He is really there-if He knows you. Ask Him how He feels about you. And then listen. (Russell M. Nelson, “Come, Follow Me,” Ensign or Liahona, May 2019, 90

It's funny, I've lived such a blessed life. I've known little loss. Most of my life struggles have been self-inflicted, poor choices. I marvel thinking, "Imagine how amazing a life I would be living if I'd not made these poor choices, or self-inflicted decisions." And then I remember the atoning sacrifice of Jesus Christ. And realise, I am living that amazing life, when I apply it to my life.

The book of Mormon is amazing I was raised in the Pentecostal Church somewhat Southern bapt. My father hated the book of Mormon and anything that had to do with the latter Day saints. Will heavenly Father saw it different. Years later I meant a Latter-Day Saint man. Today he's my husband. I am so thankful for brother Growl the missionary . Now The book of Mormon is what I call my life book. It is truly another testament of Jesus Christ. I have been a member now for 38 years.

Mormons, NO RESTORATION IS NEEDED. Because Jesus already has established His Church. MATTHEW 16:18 "And I also say to you that you are Peter, and on this rock I will build My church and the gates of Hell shall not prevail against it..." JUDE 3 "While I was very diligent to write to you concerning our common salvation, I found it necessary to write to you exhorting you to contend earnestly for the faith which was once for all delivered to the saints..." Jesus already has established His Church and built it on a rock so the gates of Hell shall not prevail against it. Also, the faith was ONCE and for all already delivered to the saints. No mention of any Mormon restoration in the past, present and future.

If you believe the story of the 6-day creation and Adam and Eve, if you believe the story of the flood and Noah's ark, if you believe that Moses parted the Red Sea, and if you believe that several resurrected beings visited Joseph Smith 200 yrs ago, you are a faithful Mormon.

When you seek answers from the Book of Mormon instead of the Bible, God can't help you because you have turned your back on Him. Therefore this leaves the door open for Satan (II Corinthians 11:14-15) to step into your life with a false christ or prophet showing you signs and wonders to lead you away from the real Jesus of the Bible who is God the Son 2nd person of the Trinity. God Himself warns us about this in: MATTHEW 24:23-24 "Then if anyone says to you, Look, here is the Christ! or There! do not believe it. For false christs and false prophets will rise and show great signs and wonders to deceive, if possible, even the elect..." Mormons teach and believe that their jesus is the brother of Satan, which contradicts what God says in His Bible that Jesus is God the Son 2nd person of the Trinity. So Mormons, which Jesus do you believe in? A. Your jesus of the Book of Mormon, who is the brother of Satan. OR B. The Jesus of the Bible, who is God the Son 2nd person of the Trinity.

The narrative was written long after the event. In fact, all the canonized gospels were not written in real time, rather long after the events. The BOM is a delusional nick of the questionable gospels and the post deluvian scriptures.

Let's never forget the 14 cities that Jesus destroyed in the Americas after his death. Somehow, he spared those in the Middle East (the most wicked generation) and asked God to forgive them, but rained he'll fire on men, women, and children in the Americas and bragged about it afterwards.

@paraleeeckman1728 I used brag because in 3rd Nephi 9, Jesus speaks from the heavens about his great accomplishments and then asks those who remain to believe in him and be healed after he maimed them. I understand why Joseph had to destroy these cities into mounds of earth (see moundbuilder myth), but this Jesus is inconsistent with the New Testament Jesus. I feel for the other sheep he visited. He probably destroyed even more cities.

I think you may have overlooked two very important facts (which I will split into 2 separate replies for you to consider.) First, never once in any of the scriptures did God destroy the wicked without first warning them to stop their wicked ways and return to him. He didn't warn them just once, he warned them over and over again, personally, through the light of Christ within each of them, also through promptings from the Holy Ghost, and collectively through prophets. He didn't just give them days or weeks of warning. He gave them centuries of warning. Remember that after the flood, Ham, Japeth and Shem, who would become the fathers of the future human race, all had the true gospel and taught it to their children. Over time, the faith of many dwindled as they forgot "whose" they were. They adulterated the true gospel of Jesus Christ to fit their whims to the point of apostasy. Even so, we can see from very ancient writings that they still had remnants of the gospel in their cultures. The wholesale rejection of gospel truth almost always leads to tyranny. When tyranny prevails, those who still believe are persecuted. Even the more righteous can become lackadaisical in their worship, so the Lord will allow it for a time to help them remember him and their covenants. Keep in mind that the people in ancient America had become very wicked before Christ's death and resurrection, apparently so wicked that they were fully ripe in iniquity--ripe enough for destruction. Also, we know that there was an earthquake in Jerusalem at the time of Christ's crucifixion large enough to tear the veil of the temple. It would be naive to assume there was no other destruction just because the disciples didn't write about the details. When he asked God to "forgive them', he was talking about the Roman soldiers, not the wicked pharisees. Mass destruction did come to Jerusalem in 70AD, just 36 years later. Time to repent?

Second, the other important fact to remember is that the entire purpose of God's work is to bring to pass the immortality and eternal life of all of God's children. Because He loves us and wants us to be capable of coming back into his presence forever, he is willing to meet us where we are and work with us. He never leaves us where he finds us, but encourages to repent and keep moving forward. However, he will never force us. He can only inspire, motivate, teach and warn. If we choose to reject his help and instead move further away from his teachings to the point of being truly wicked and endangering the life and well being of the more righteous, then he intervenes. If the wicked will not repent and return, then for the sake of the righteous he must destroy the wicked. He almost always uses one group of the wicked to destroy another group of the the wicked. These patterns can be seen throughout the scriptures. They are repeating again in our day and will culminate shortly before the Savior returns in glory. Our God is a merciful and just God. Those whom he "destroyed" from the earth are removed from this mortal existence and returned to the spirit world where they can learn gospel truths and are given the opportunity to repent before the final judgement.

Why do you celebrate this pagan holiday? It’s not about the resurrection of our creator because he was crucified on Passover, which is on April 22 this year. So who are you serving?
