Agree. Many ethnic rebels were at war with the government even during the semi-NLD rule between 2015 and 2020. They are also now stronger than they have ever been. Even if the junta collapses today, there probably won’t be peace. The NUG will have to concede significant autonomy to the ethnic armies, more akin to the Holy Roman Empire of the past, if they are to keep the country together in name.

Controlling a non democratic country is so easy and through Myanmar they get a short cut route to the Indian Ocean and Myanmar is rich in minerals.

I dunno... Theoretically, doable, but with China, India, and (to a lesser extent) Thailand as neighbors, realistically no. The best solution is... when the military junta falls and a new democratic government is formed, a total purge of the military is done and when a new constitution is drafted, a provision for total civilian control of the military is provided.
