Honestly I'm glad there isn't just one thing that checks off all the boxes. I feel like each different curriculum has its own strengths and we would never know if we only used that one thing.

Amen. I was just watching a video where a mom was upset that her child tested average with a certain math program and is going to jump to the former program instead. I think that we need to learn to let go of the perfect child and curriculum. We have so many resources in my home. We have so many boxes of books divided into grades. I threw out the one big box curriculum years ago.

Yes, there's no one thing that will make everything "click" for a student...variety of resources is very helpful!

I’ve not found a perfect curriculum!!! I know it doesn’t exist but I try to see the gaps then work on working on these gaps!!! I used MWC and my daughter is doing better with math but I’m still supplementing her gaps!!!

Math U See is coming pretty close for me though! ;) But, yes, I totally get what you are saying. There is definitely not ONE all inclusive LA curriculum that will give you ALL you need for your child to learn early language skills. Now, to learn math? MUS just might do it. (This is how much I LOVE MUS.) hahahaha!

I also think MUS is an excellent curriculum. But little practices like earning money, spending money, noticing prices in the store, noticing clocks in the home, measuring things with a ruler or a tape measure, sharing a box of cookies between all the siblings and making sure it's divided evenly....those are all factors in developing math skills, too. Math is one of the subjects that's especially easy to 'find' at work in everyday life, so we're rarely ever doing "one thing" to practice math skills, even if we only use one curriculum. This weekend, we're participating in a community "garage sale" and letting the six year old run his own table--just one more little experience that will let him practice those math skills. He's been counting down the days...ha!

I do think MUS is going to set my kids up with all the skills they need to apply math to every day life…and I won’t have to supplement any with any other curriculum to give them this skill set. When we first started using MUS we were using Masterbooks math (which I loved at the time) and I figured eventually I would have them do both, but now we are just sticking with MUS. I see no need to add any other math curriculum to MUS and I am so thankful for that b/c I just need math to be simple and non-stressful. Have fun at the garage sale using those math skills!!! So cute he’s been counting down the days!

One curriculum to rule them all, and in the darkness guide them. 😉😂 No, it does not exist. Sometimes a bummer, but also a relief!
