I honestly don't really, there are definitely times where I play something, listen back and go "yeah that's the one" - like this take for example, but I guess I'm so used to my sound that my ideas don't really surprise me too much. The only exception is I play, practise and record something and then don't listen to it much after and then come back the next day to listen - then I kinda forgot what I play so if I haven't heard it too many times it's more exciting to listen to :)

Heck yeah, it could be a new genre! I'm not a reliable source for genre classification, but what I think I hear is a combination of Jazzstep and Braindance.

God, how I love listening to your stuff. I am a tap dancer and as I listen, I hear all kinds of possibilities in the nuances, the colours and the rhythms of your music. It is amazing, and it gets my own creative juices flowing.

I think you have one of the most insanely efficient looking trumpet techniques I've ever seen. I almost NEVER see someone do vibrato with just their embouchure, usually I see guys shake the trumpet a bit. Honestly you make the trumpet sound like a flugel unless you are actually playing a flugel in this video xD (edit, I'm blind, yes, i see you were playing a flugel, that is AWESOME)

he's had (probably) longer to practice (he's been playing about 2 decades i think). He told me a little while ago about a way to practice glisses by going up in open valve intervals. for example, you could go from middle C to above-staff G without hitting the E in between. then you can half valve and do the same movement. if you want to see improvement quickly, listen for imperfections in your glisses and work your hardest to get rid if them. at that point, it just takes time.

Mot sure what mic he uses, but he does add a little reverb and cuts out some more aggressive frequencies in his flugel to produce a more gentle, softer, and smoother audio. You can go see what I mean if you search up "How I made the From The Start Flugel Solo" and if you search up "How I made Havana" to find out what mic he has! Edit: got bored, so I checked for ya. He has a Neumann TLM
