That was the original name since the player who created was called Fetelix, then ppl shortened it to the lix jump, and the amalix is a refined version of that original mech. So you’re right it was 👍

Very thorough and comprehensive video! If it's used in Pro play, we can be sure Johnnyboi_i won't be calling it a "Amalix Jump" 🤣 He'll call it something like wall reset or something. Note, I'm not hugely against Johnny's reasoning for not using the player who popularised the shot's name to commentate over the corresponding mechanic performed

As I said in the vid I doubt the name will stay the same, it’ll probably just get called a lix jump or wall reset. I can’t imagine Johnnyboi calling the amalix jump either 🤣

I think it would be useful, I can not do it or any other fancy off the wall mechanics like air dribbles or flip resets but if u could pull a musty when the opponent thinks u do not have a flip then that would be unsaveable

Great video! Most people in these comments seem to advocate for "Wall Reset", which is a great name in my opinion :). For those of you asking for ingame clips/slowmotion footage: stay tuned for that, I'm working on a video! Anyone who thinks this is "just a Lix jump" is hugely mistaken imo, but I hope in the future I can convince you otherwise! Edit: I have uploaded a tutorial now, in case you're curious :)

The primary importance of a mechanical name is two fold: tag a specific series of cause and effect. And to provide a search friendly term to find content related to that thing. If a person searches Lix jump they get a certain, small, set of videos. If they search amalix they get two amalix videos and few of lix jump videos. As more content gets made it needs to be searchable relative to the amalix jump as the entire setup is a completely different timing and approach. A person wanting to watch how people are doing it to emulate it needs the search term to be different. It also meets the first part, it is a separate series of cause and effect than the lix jump. It is a new mechanic.

Totally agree! Even if the name I proposed doesn't stick, I still feel like a different name than "Lix jump" should be picked as the refinements to the mechanic differentiate it enough to be a different mechanic. Searching for a Lix jump tutorial instead of AmaLix jump tutorial (when I eventually upload it) will teach you a lesser optimised/unpractical way of doing the mechanic.

Would have been nice to see some slow mo replays to catch the subtler things happening in these mechanics. Great video though. And of course slomo replays would make the video longer and some people might not like it, so take that with a grain of salt (as a grain? Lol)

Look the main reason I didn’t do super slow mo clips was because the clips begin the pixelate extremely easily (they were clipped on gifyourgame that’s y), but I would’ve loved to. Glad you liked the vid!

I clipped them in very high quality using Radeon ReLive, you could have asked for the original clips :P. But tbf I did not upload any slowmotion clips, so that probably wouldn't have been very nice footage anyway.@@mouldy_shoe

So really off-topic, but I noticed in FeteLix’s clip, he has 390+ on the boost meter, does anyone know what that is and what the point is instead of just regular infinite boost?

I believe this is just a recharge plugin from bakkesmod, and there is no difference other than if u needed up using more than 400 boost (which probably won’t in training)

Btw the “wave jump” is not a thing. It’s called a haon dash trust me it’s much more poplar than wave jump thousands of no flippers use it every day

Yeah I’m familiar with the haon dash, the reason I didn’t call it by that name was that the original clip called it a “wave jump”, and that clip originated before the clips of the haon dash. Still tho ur right it isn’t technically a mech 👍
