I think the issue is that, there is only one pigment in the foundation. Just one. No undertones. Nothing. It is essentially just face paint. Imagine being super pale and then a brand hands you white paint.

I love that you pointed out that if white woman bashed Carol's Daughter or another black hair care company because they dont make a product suitable for white hair, black women would have a fit.

Has she not heard of Nyakim Gatwech? Has she never met any Sudanese women? There are a lot in my city and some of them are literally black and not brown. Is she suggesting they should be forced to wear shades that make them lighter? They're beautiful the shade they are.

If you LOOK at the ingredients on the bottle it’s iron oxide and when you search that up it’s black not a single undertone.

I have a kind of on topic but kind of off topic question if you do q&a's. I saw a video of a African American woman who did a cosplay of a character from a show called monster high. The characters name is Catty Noir and she is a black furred werecat monster. The woman who cosplayed her used a very dark foundation (possibly just black body paint) and people were calling her racist and saying she was doing black face. Now another woman also did this same cosplay but she is a white woman. Again this is a character who is covered in black fur so the white woman wanting to stay accurate to the characters design also painted herself jet black just like the African American woman but she received death threats for it. Would you say it is black face or racist that they painted their bodies to match the character or would you say since they did not do it with the intent to be disrespectful or harm anyone that it is ok? Also do you think it is ok for a white person to cosplay as a black character? I have always wanted to because there is another character from that show who's my favorite but I have seen others get death threats over even mentioning cosplaying someone from another race so I just wanted to hear your opinion on it if that's alright.

I agree with you except the Darcy point. The first black paint was literal black paint, she even said for costumes and cosplay. The second one, from youthforia is not supposed to be for costumes or cosplay. It's supposed to be for dark-skinned women. I see a difference here. However, I do agree with the other points you made here.

From one African to another, how about we start with research before hitting record, you didn't address anything that was being brought up by Golloria or any other creator, the lack of an undertone, the fact that she made a shade without working with a black person to match it to during production (as you're supposed to and yes she could afford to because she just got Mark Cuban to invest 400k), she basically just had an imaginary client in mind and it's left to us to figure out how to use a product when it doesn't fit its intended purpose? And you keep comparing concealer to foundation, concealer can be different colors even red or green because it saves a whole different purpose, to conceal. Also the girl you keep saying should have chosen a different shade because there are others from there that could match her, did try 2 other shades they also didn't work which is another reason why ppl spoke up, there's such a big jump between shades for black ppl but the lighter shades have so much more variation in shades and undertones you almost can't tell them apart. The issue wasnt that they werent inclusive it was that they marketed themselves as such but did the bare minimum for black women's shades (which is not new at all because they often profit off of us while giving us breadcrumbs & this happens in Africa too on a daily basis in our own communities). Also the shade can not be mixed with something else like you suggested because it's plain black which is a horrible pigment to mix anything with and if you did even the tiniest bit of research you would have known this. Another thing you'd have known from your research is that even if Fiona's company is quite new, she has been saying she's been working on darker shades since the release of her first collection about 2 years ago so for her to release black pigment alone after 2 years worth of formulation is just unacceptable and the beautiful black lady 6:54 wasn't happy with her response from that shade but a different one instead because the darkest shade was too dark even for her and she was actually paid for the review and only took her video down (in which she encouraged ppl to buy the foundation) after the backlash. Also no nobody thought Fiona was white to begin with. This video is just all over the place. We can do better for our ppl.
