A lot of sellers are open about the 2048SP being refurbished with chips from ex-mining cards. Others even admit GPU and VRAM chipsets are random, and may be from 580 / 570 / or even 470 cards. The big risk is an unknown lifespan. Still, even for a factory overclocked 570, it's cheap and can be overclocked to 1350 - 1400 Mhz, too, so can almost match a proper 580.

But if the die is from a 470 the performance is going to be *SIGNIFICANTLY* less than that of a 570 much less a real 580. That was before my time in pc gaming. And these companies name their crap so crazy. I would assume a 470 would be SIGNIFICANTLY less than a 580

I’m using the MLLSE RX580 in my budget build, had it for around 6 months now and so far so good. Paired it with the i3-10100f and works great for the games I play (Valorant and CSGO)

It's a good deal, but the price means something other than the refurbish chips. These cards at the beginning of the year were still $100, and in 8 months it's in the $50 (some as low as $47). The sudden price drop took place soon after rumors of AMD getting ready to end support by the end of the year on the rest of GCN architecture based GPUs (that includes all 500 series & Vega series). This sudden drop could be a major sign that the rumor is true, and they need to drop them down to get them out the door ASAP before they are stuck with hard to sale cards. Even if it is true though unlike Nvidia that bio locks drivers AMD doesn't, and has some die hard 3rd party driver support groups that'll pump out new unofficial drivers to keep those card alive longer.

*Great video, I've bought a few different models & reviewed them & in my experience I would say that the RX580 from AliExpress was a decent buy a few months back however these days for an extra $10ish you can get a 5500XT 8GB which is insane value! 5500XT are more powerful, newer, less power draw & support SAM, however if you have an extreme budget or taxes/customs are high then the RX580 could still make sense*

I would double the budget for a 5700, it's equivalent to a 6600 and it cost only $150.

I bought one of these cards for £41.42, around $52.57 USD. The reason I suspect it was so cheap is because the version I bought only came with a HDMI port as a video out. As a replacement for the GTX 970 that had previously been in my office/media PC it has proved to be worth the money. Paired with a Ryzen 5 1600AF the card is proving more than capable of some very decent gaming in titles like Assassin's Creed Odyssey and even being capable of running Baldur's Gate 3 well at 1080p (medium and low settings). While official driver support has now ended the custom driver community seems alive and well. I don't feel the need to do so since this isn't my gaming PC but at some point I'll probably try them out just to see how things are.

I have thousands of hours on my R5 3600 and 580. Only just now building a new pc but the 580 is still in use by my wife getting respectable fps in the games we play. Proves that you can still game on a $400 rig if your building it in 2023.

The chips can be safely soldered once. After that any heat and cooling stress from the resoldering can cause warps and cracks.

@@lepoopysmack They are not done in a way to resist being resoldered many times. A machine heats and melts the solder of all components once.

Is it like a ryzen 3 picasso? A ryzen 5 3600x? A ryzen 9 5950x???? A threadripper????!?! I genuinely I have no idea how to follow intel or nvidia, to a lesser extent, naming conventions.

u can literally google it, k = overclockable, F = without integrated graphics, T or S = power saving model

Well, intel numbers their cpus in the core i3 series, core i5 series, core i7 series, and core i9 series. The higher the number, the better it is. the numbers at the front are for what generation the cpu is, for example: core i3 12100 is a 12th gen cpu at the bottom of the barrel. A core i9 12900 is at the top of the barrel.

Temps are looking fine even with bad air flow, you could OC it close to normal 580 core clock. It will close the gap in performance.

the problem is , that card aint a actual rx580 but a rebadged rx 570 since all the chinese shit has 2048 stream procesors instead of 2304 a normal and actual rx 580 has
