Part of the "GoldenPass" route from Montreux to Lucerne, Zentralbahn's Luzern Interlaken Express is the most scenic gateway to the Jungfrau region. Along the shores of lakes, through alpine valleys, and over mountain passes, this InterRegio service brings everything you would expect from even one of Switzerland's premium Panorama Express services, with a full service dining car complete with white tablecloths. Come along as we take a ride in the first class panorama section from Lucerne to Interlaken Ost.

I rode that journey 100's of times when I lived in meiringen.. I agree, if you are heading to Interlaken going through Luzern is the much more scenic route.

Zurich, Lucerne, and Interlaken route is beautiful day trip for us in this September. We will stay in Zurich. Also like to take Bernina Ex to Tirano and then Milan.

It's pronounced Lutzern (unless you want to call it Lucerne in English). The railway is Zentralbahn (pronounced Tcentralbahn). The SOB (Suedostbahn) operates several services. Luzern is the terminal of the Voralpenexpress (not the Vorarlbergexpress). Danke

I dont know about other month, but i took this route early may & didnt have to book seat, but i have 1st class ticket though. Maybe its different in 2nd class

I used a Eurail Pass, which you have to book in advance. You can buy single or return tickets at any Zentralbahn station, and that shouldn't be hard at Luzern or Interlaken. You can book tickets on the Luzern website or on the SBB page as well.

I’m going in July so would you please let me know if it’s worth it to take the train because my main destination is not Interlaken; I’m taking the train for the train ride itself and the scenic views
