As a student I would sit on the couch in his Studio in the Meatpacking district. Knowing that such huge names as Kline and Gandolfini and Close and countless other great names preceded you. Then he would work with you. By the time you got up from that couch, He had coaxed out of you a monumentally better performance then you could’ve done by yourself. He is still missed by many.

I was a student of Harold Guskin around 1998 to the early 2000's. He was truly brilliant. Some of the actors who'd be coming in or leaving when I was waiting for my lesson would be Chris Noth, Jon Bon Jovi, Channing Tatum, Aaliyah, and Olivier Martinez. He worked with so many stars. He attracted the best in the business because he had a style of acting that was very realistic but also interesting to watch because he prepared his actors to have so much internal life in their performances. Harold would sometimes perform the monologue you would be working on and you'd look at him and go, "Why can't I do that as good as you?" But he went beyond the text. He'd break down the character down and just talk about the circumstances. He was a great coach but I've also worked with other great coaches with other methods like sense memory and what not. It's all about becoming free and connected. But I really love that quote about attacking what you fear. That's so true to life.

I studied with Harold Guskin for about 4 years - which changed my life artistically and subsequently it lead to me coaching myself and I've had the privilege to share a great deal with many actors that have gone on to have great success. His book is a treasure. - Thanks for posting this video.

I'm reading this book. But I'm confused where Harold talks about physiacalizing the image. I'm having a hard time understanding this concept . Could you please explain it to me with an example
