I have a priority 600 with a pinion gear box and love it . I also have a CAT TRIKE VILLAGER and plan to convert it with a pinion gear box . They shift so easy and no worries about hitting a derailleur on rocks or stix.

I have a Steintrikes Wild One 20/20 that I have installed a 6 speed Pinion transmission and a 14 speed Rohloff Speedhub, I find that these two paired together on a recumbent trike to be a very good combination. For me, shifting is very easy, I have enough gears, especially for hills, which is what I wanted, speed is not an issue for me. For use with the 14 speed Rohloff, the 6 speed Pinion is best.

Very informative video article! Vast majority do not need higher than Rohloff gearing. Most would be better served with LOWER sprocket gearing, if gear-hub option purchased! Majority would be better served with lower gearing sprocket than the stock non-gearbox gearing. Three gearboxes on Hase trikes here. Two of them are Rohloff mid-mounted gearboxes. Shimano E-assist w/Rohloff here. Hugely respect German E-assist ("Rohloff E14") too! Vast majority of riders would be well served with Rohloff and E-assist, likely with lower sprocket gearing! Would love to try an ALL-Rohloff E-assist, Rohloff E-shifting, WITH their Rohloff gearbox! OH.., YEAH!!! Incredible video!

On my ROHLOFF-Equipped Hase Delta Trikes: No WHEEL REMOVAL, OR, DISASSEMBLY needed to fix ANY flat tire. Including a REAR, FLAT tire! Limited-mobility handicapper here. Have E-assist too! That Delta Trike advantage HUGELY matters to me! Very informative video! Interestingly, lower gearing is typically needed for elderly and/or handicapped, not higher gearing! Gearbox gearing IS over-the-top worth owning!

Hi Davy, could you please give a really nice tutorial on the 4 wheeler vs the three wheeler for people who are 6’3” and 300 lbs. I would really appreciate that. And can I do the pinion with electric hub on the four wheeler? Thank You 🙏

Hey @bigmountain7561 Davy here. Thank you for the video suggestion! We have a couple videos on our quads coming up soon, but we would love to cover this topic in the coming months so stay tuned. And to answer your question, if the 4 wheeler you are talking about is our Revolution eQuad you definitely can put a Pinion on it. The eQuad's setup allows for the Bafang middrive motor to actually function as a midrive motor and not occupy the space of the front gearing. This give you the ability to have a motor with a front and rear internally geared hub if you really wanted to trick it out.

Losing weight here. Topped out at 420lbs. Now at 355 lbs. Three Hase Lepus' here. Have 2WD, independent, rear-wheel air suspension, Rohloff gearbox (never again cassette), and 250Watt Shimano E-assist. 250Watt E-assist IS legal on bicycle paths! Plan ahead! Communities outlawing high-wattage, hot rodding of E-assist on bicycle paths!!!!!! Plan ahead!!! Wheelchair AND forearm crutches on/off for this NFL-sized, 70y.o. senior with no balance and limited mobility! Cannot get on/off my Tadpoles/Quads for 15 years now! Just saying... Plan ahead! Never outgrow a delta planform recumbent trike. Grow oldest on a delta planform recumbent trike. Been there.., doing that!!! Forgot to mention: Not driving automobiles anymore on roads for 4-years now. Plan ahead! ONLY buy "Street Legal" bicycle OR tricycle! "Jus Sayin......"

If one has "Balance Issues," DO NOT spend money on ANY Tadpole OR ANY Quad!!!!!!!!!! Been there, done that!!!!!!!!!! Only Delta Planform trike!!!!!!!!!!! "Hase Lepus" with 25-inch seat-height OPTION here!!!!!!!!!! Oh, "Hase" Oversize Seat Option TOO!!!!!!!!!!@@bigmountain7561

Totally possible. It's not one we see often but with the torque rating of Enviolo's heavy duty hub you should be able to hold the torque the Pinion puts out.

I don’t have a comment on the Pinion but on your music. As a guitar player it really grates on my nerves because the guitar is out of tune. 😢

Sadly the original and the new MGU is not compatible!!! All current gearbox bike owners can not upgrade to MGU... 😢😡 You have to buy a completely different MGU bike frame!!! Utah trikes will need to make a second pinion boom for the MGU...
