Is this the best single track in michigan?, Long Lake is really close to being my favorite single track in Michigan! This trail has it all with hill climbs, roots, some rock and Epic Flow! This was the second time I’ve ridden here and I forgot how good it is, I rode this trail in late march and was really suprised how washed out the hill climbs are, but man was it fun!

Long Lake Single Track is easily in my top 5, I absolutely love this trail! This footage was taken on the last day of our three day riding trip back in early October. The conditions were perfect and we were feeling good. Give it a view and let me know where this Trail rates for you?!

What's the best way to contact you? I have a group of guys just getting back into the sport and would love to tag along if that's ok? Thanks for posting all the videos and I look forward to some warmer weather so I can head back up that way. Also we are all from Northwest Indiana so we are close.

How would you compare this with Caberfae? We are trying to decide between the two for May 28th weeekend. Thanks

@@thambu19 both good! I would say Long Lake is a little harder, has more whoops and roots. I’ve only ridden Caberfae once and just remember it being fun with a few small rutted climbs. Long Lake is a little bit more challenging.

@@Captain250FX Thank you so much. Although we hate whoops we quite enjoy the technical climbs especially if we have to dodge or go over roots in the process. Thinking of taking an FX and YZ250X this time

We have a cabin near long lake trail. I love this trail. It's tight and technical. Lots of roots and whoops usually. Fun fun

Hey Captain, Based on this video, I rode Long Lake yesterday and really liked it. Trail was dry and traction was great. Pretty big whoops, which I didn’t mind and lots of roots. I followed a local guy that was really fast. I’ll do it again. Thanks for your video!

Would you know what that rattle sound could be coming from (around 5.35 mark) my YZ250FX makes that when the engine speed is low and I get on the gas. Usually when I am one gear too high. Not sure if it is the chain or head.

100% the chain, my 18FX was always chattering. The Yamaha bikes call for a little more slack in the chains than the euro bikes. Perfectly fine, I believe the manual calls for a chain spec of 1.9-2.3 inches.

Make sure you read your manual though, bike is supposed to be on a stand and measured from the chain guide.

Outstanding Vid! How would you feel if this trail or others would/could be groomed to loose the whoops? I know you like whoops...I can do without.

Maybe a little bit to take off the edge? I’ve heard they don’t really have the equipment that can get down these skinny trails? Thanks for watching!

I’ve seen them grooming the little O . So I think that they can get down some of the 50” trails. One guy that I talk to say in places he would go over them several times to flatten the woops. But it doesn’t take long to get them whooped out again.
