Hi Apollo, thanks for sharing this battle feed. Just want to share a fun fact: There is mention of Dutch Grenadiers on the French side, but in fact, they mostly fought for the Anglo-Allied side (with the Prince of Orange, the King of The Netherlands) being 1 of the field commanders. Please look up Battle for Quartre Bras. The Dutch were the first in the prelude to Waterloo, to fight against the imperial armee. 1 of the units, Royal Horse Artillery, was the unit I served with. In fact, because they were in that battle, me and my fellow Riders (we were called the Yellow Riders) took our oath on the Waterloo Battlefield in 2002 (commemorating the battle in which the unit fought). If you ever are able to go to the battlefield, I would highly recommend it! Beautiful site, just like the Battlefields of your US Civil War. PS: it is true that Dutch had to fight for the Imperial Armee, but that was prior to 1812.

Deliberately targeting generals, officers, musicians, or standard bearers was considered the most ungentlemanly and cowardly act in this time period. It would have been viewed as extremely dishonorable and beneath the dignity of most armies. I think it's actually a really interesting aspect of warfare in this era. The views on propper conduct, honor, etc. heavily influenced how battles were fought and how soldiers viewed themselves as well as the enemy.

Rip the angry french mob or the blob whatever you want to call it. 19:57 - 28:35. They were great men that mobbed the British but sadly died in vain. Napoleon denies giving orders to the units for blobing up despite allgetations from Micheal Ney that he actually ordered it. Thus, it was a sad loss to us all.

I think it was four years ago when I first attempted to correct your pronunciation of Chasseurs. Would you like some chaw, sirs? Of course, the actual pronunciation has some sounds which aren't present in English, but don't worry about that. If you see the word, Chasseurs, think of "Chasers" which is what they are, troops who Chase and Harass the enemy, and think of seeing a group of lieutenants and offering them some chaw by saying "Would you like some chaw, sirs?" Just don't have any space between the chaw and the sirs. Say it fast.
@benjaminmcclelland24644 жыл бұрын
I was pleasantly surprised by Troy. Unit collision is still nonexistent, but the pitch battle maps are actually a lot of fun there os good variety and I find myself strategically playing with the terrain. The ai also plays sieges very well, falling back off the walls and fighting in the streets.
