Rachel Holt released a song called "I Was Gonna Be." The song was written from the point of view of an unborn baby whose life was taken in the womb. It's an extremely arresting song.

I had two friends who had abortions while they were in college. I did not find out until we were all married with children. BOTH women told me that everyone told them how the abortion was going to “fix their problem”. They both also said that NO ONE told them how they were going to feel afterwards. BOTH of them said that after their abortion they have never forgotten. A year after their abortion they would see a year old baby and think that their baby would look like that. And the second year the same. Then the third, and the fourth…… they have NEVER forgotten nor will they. And now that they have children it has become more real to them that they were wrong to abort. As I heard them explain this to me they looked so broken hearted. I pray for my friends every day.

When my husband and I were only married a few months I fell pregnant but she tried to talk me into having an abortion because it was earlier than planned... shocking, my daughter is now 18 years old and is the most amazing human I have ever met. I agree. Pro choicers also argue that they're "saving the child from a horrible life" when no one can accurately predict how someone's life will be/become, especially before they even have a chance to live it. Unborn babies have the right to life, just like you and me, yet they're barely begun precious little lives are terminated by cold blooded murder, every day.

@@Inhisarms333 That's such a disgusting argument. It's the same as saying we should exterminate the impoverished and homeless, because their current living conditions are not up to one subjective person's standards. The pro-murder crowd doesn't realize that a millionaire or billionaire could easily decide the same about THEM, because perspective and compassion simply aren't part of their thought processes.

I made one bad decision at 16, in 1992…I got pregnant and thank God every day. He saved my life. His biological father died when my son was 5 months old and I was 17…. My husband adopted him when we got married in 2004, my son was 11. We celebrate 20 years of marriage in August and we’ve since added 3 more sons to the family. They’re all 31, 20, 17 and 10 years old. Wouldn’t change that “mistake” for anything in this world. He made me want to be a better human being so that I could be his mother.

Micheal, I have just found out a week ago that my husband and I are expecting our first child after 26 years married. We didn't think we could have children but have now been told that I am most definitely pregnant at age 45. We are obviously nervous and going for our first ultrasound this Wednesday and very excited. I know that I heard this song and immediately went to hear it in its entirety and will no doubt cry to it once again. I can't believe the lies young women are told and how many suffer deep regrets because of their decisions. This song needed to be made, there's no better and more appropriate time than this day and age to bring the truth out before a choice is made that cannot be reversed and young women deserve to know. God bless and thank you for all you do

Getting raped is also not a mistake, because it's not a choice. It's unfortunate and should be fought against happening, but the baby once again didn't do anything wrong and deserves to live. I was a scared 17 year old laying on an abortion table at Planned Parenthood in Houston, Texas in 1978 when they realized it had been overlooked that I was still a minor and could not proceed with the abortion. My father was deceased and I knew my mother would not sign a consent form. Thankfully, my precious baby girl was born, and now, 45 years later, she has her own daughter (my granddaughter) who now writes songs and sings because her mother was ‘given a chance’. Abortion wipes out generations that could have been, that should have been. No one likes to believe that every decision we make affects other people. I wish this song could be played before anyone could proceed with an abortion. Keep writing. Keep singing. And we will keep sharing. If it helps ONE child be born to fulfill his/her purpose, it will be worth it. Paula Enloe, Author “Lessons From My Mirror - Change Begins With Me”

I wholeheartedly disagree about babies going to Heaven. Maybe it is just my optimism bias....but I do believe babies, all babies do go to Heaven. Now, as we get older, we are definitely responsible for our own salvation. As much as I love my teenagers, I don't automatically assume they will go to heaven if God forbid something happens to them. That's why I talk to them about Jesus. But, I do find solice that someday I will meet my babies I lost to miscarriage in heaven.

The Lord knows our future & our alternative future. A pastor once said to me, "you have to hear the gospel to be saved". I thought later, So then deaf people are lost, no!! because we "hear" the gospel in our heart. I think the unborn souls are fully formed, just the bodies that house that soul need to grow. So God can speak to the soul of the unborn & I can't imagine they would reject that love.

I've always wanted an older sister. 😢I cannot say with certainty that the born will all go to heaven, but I will say that she is.

Michael my wife and I suffered 3 miscarriages. It's the most painful thing I ever went through. To say they might not get to heaven due to lack of baptism doesn't take into account baptism by desire and baptism by blood. Even if that doesn't qualify as baptism by blood, Gods mercy would have to bring them to Heaven or why would the life have begun in the first place. It's had to be childless not by choice and to hear the Anti-life people say abortion is the same as miscarriage is agonizing. I also feel all those pains you applied to the abortive parents, when I see my friends kids and my nieces and nephews and think my kids could have been their age had they gotten to live. Miscarriage is the hardest experience because there's no funeral, no visitation, just grieving alone with my wife.

I didn’t even know I was pregnant until it was obvious something was wrong and then my doctor told me and I saw the ultrasound with an empty uterus and a cyst in my tube. We are now pregnant again and I’m honestly scared, but hopeful for this one. But it is hard, what happened can’t be erased and only us and those we’ve told/will tell know about it.

I have had a miscarriage as well. The religion that I associate with (The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day saints) we believe that children are not able to sin or to be held accountable until the age of 8 (that is why we have them baptized at 8). We also believe in baptisms for the dead where we can baptize those who didn't have the chance on this earthly existence. It is their choice to accept it or not. :)

I'm very sorry for your loss. To be fair, Michael said that we do not know with certainty who is in Heaven and who isn't. We entrust those babies to God's infinite mercy which is the basis for our hope for them. Yet, we do not have knowledge, God hasn't revealed that to us. Original sin is real, the necessity for baptism is real, and also God's mercy and universal will to save humanity are real. Hope and leave it up to Him.

When King David committed adultery with Bathsheba, it resulted in pregnancy, and the Lord sent the Prophet Nathan to tell David that, because of his sin, He would take the child in death. David responded by grieving and praying for the child. But once the child died, David's mourning ended. David's servants were surprised to hear this, and He said to them, "While the child was still alive, I fasted and wept. I thought, 'Who knows? The Lord may be gracious to me and let the child live.' But now that he is dead, why should I go on fasting? Can I bring him back again? I will go to him, but he will not return to me." (2 Samuel 12:22-23 NIV) The words of David indicate that infants who die are safe in the Lord. God can apply the sacrificial payment of Jesus to young children and others incapable of repenting of their sins and receiving Jesus as their Lord and Savior. God is eternally good, right, loving, holy, merciful, just, and gracious (Matthew 19:14).

The situation in that verse is a bit different. Those who suffer with past abortions should still offer prayer and fasting for their children, with confidence in God's immeasurable mercy. Women deserve better.

I say this as a Christian, but this belief doesn’t seem logical, it seems like a cope. We should have nothing against abortion, then, if 100% of babies killed go to heaven.

@lilcricket641 while I agree with most of what you said, I disagree with the purgatory point. For that point to work, purgatory would have to exist within our plane of time. However, it exists in eternity, where our concept of time means nothing. Perhaps the barest instant in our time is like a thousand years in purgatory. We don't know, what the ratio is, and I suspect there is no exact ratio, but it is not confined to the limits of our time.

Why don’t people think more about adoption? I understand not everyone is in a position to have a child, but there are so many couples dealing with infertility, abortion is a big win.

@jbwetzstein

@@julieelizabeth4856 But it's not. Early Christians didn't have the catechisms. They didn't have a pope, although I imagine RCs would argue Peter was the first. It was simple. It was not the Roman Catholicism that came later. They had the history and the law from the OT (not yet in book form), and they had the teachings of Jesus and the letters from the apostles. We now have all that compiled into the 66 books of the bible... 73 if you include the apocrypha.
@julieelizabeth4856
@julieelizabeth4856 12 күн бұрын
@@jbwetzstein All the evidence that there was a pope from the beginning won't convince anyone who just doesn't want to acknowledge that. The early Church fathers wrote about the importance of being in communion with the Bishop of Rome, so as to remain ONE church, not many with competing teachings. "All that" compiled into the Bible, is a myth. The Bible doesn't contain everything. It was never meant to. It says itself that Jesus did many things, and not all the books in the world could contain it all. He left us with a Church to guide us, not a book. If the Bible were the sole authority, then salvation would evade the illiterate, the unintelligent, and most of those who lived before the printing press made the Bible readily available in the 1500's. John 1:1 - In the beginning there was LOGOS, and LOGOS was with God, and LOGOS was God. That's the original Greek, and the Greeks understood the concept of Logos long before the understood the concept of a triune God. That's why John spoke to them in that way. Logos is much more than "words only" in a book. "Word" is a weak translation of Logos. The seven "extra" books you refer to are the deuterocanonicals, and they were part of the closed canon for all Christians for over 1000 years. There are other books that are actually apocrypha that aren't in any Bibles.

No Michael your view of Christianity is the Catholic view of Christianity not everybody's Catholic so you probably don't believe that baby went to heaven because that baby wasn't baptized under the Catholic Church

I don't mean this in a mean way because I agree who could have worded it differently but as a catholic I have asked adults who work in the church and for it and the answer I have always gotten is we don't know what happens to unborn babies but we know that God is just, loving, and merciful. But we don't know if they go straight to heaven or straight to hell

This is so beautiful and sad. How could anyone want to hurt a little baby? This toys really got me. And it doesn’t seem like the early church believed they baptism is needed for salvation. This seemed to become popular in medieval times.

Born again Christians know for sure if they are going to heaven. So if grandma was a saved Christian. We know she is in heaven. Unfortunately Catholics don't follow the Bible and practice unbiblical rituals.

@julieelizabeth4856 sorry you feel that way. Born again is not baptism. Being baptized as a baby does nothing. Catholic church doesn't follow the Bible. The pope is not a holy person. You can't pray to marry or the saints. The Bible does have everything. If it needed more, God would have put more in it.
