Even during the band's peak I never would have put Wes Scantlin on a Top 100 rock/metal vocalists list. Maybe a Top 200, But the dude just had a really good belting voice and that's it. His range wasn't anything special.

Pretty much. Puddle of Mudd was always a band I found to be ok at best. They had one great song (Blurry) and the rest of their catalog is pretty much your average post-grunge. And that's leaving aside everything Wes would go on to do years later.
