Just a helpful PSA for anyone who may not know - generic sanitary pads/tampons are often made with cotton that has been farmed with harmful pesticides, repeated use of these products can be really detrimental to your health so I would really recommend using organic cotton brands if you can! Or even better sustainable alternatives like mooncup or period underwear/reusable sanitary towels. Obviously, these options aren't for everyone but just thought I should spread awareness as our health is so important! Also - most cotton comes from India and farmers are forced into using pesticides to make sure they have enough cotton crops to make a living, use of these pesticides causes a lot of health issues for them and they end up getting into loads of debt buying medication from the same companies who are selling the pesticides. There's a whole segment on this in the documentary 'The True Cost' which is about fashion but talks about the cotton industry. By boycotting brands who use cheaply farmed cotton, hopefully, we an encourage a more sustainable, healthier, fairly paid and chemical free future for everyone! Invest in the good brands who make the effort if you can :) e.g Natracare, TOTM, Dame. Just google organic tampons/sanitary pads and you'll get loads of results!

Grace, in Australia we have a charity called Share The Dignity that provides period products and toiletries to disadvantaged women. They have donation bins in supermarkets. You should see if there’s a similar charity near you and then when pads and tampons are on sale you can buy and donate.

GRACE!! I couldn't chop onions until I tried this - basically toxins in the onion are drawn to the nearest water, which is usually your eyes, but if you put a wet paper towel on your chopping board they go to that instead so NO MORE ONION TEARS

I actually was thinking about getting a new ice cream maker myself, a month or so ago...even looked up prices/reviews online...and Iike you, I don't even really care for ice cream, BUT do love sorbet's/Italian Ices.. And lo and behold, last weekend's trip to a thrift store - I found one (unboxed but with all the parts - which I knew it had because I'd just watched reviews on how easy it was to use) and to top it off, it was 1/2 price that day ($6 total)!! I have since made GrapeNut Ice cream (a family fav) and just put a small batch of Lime Sorbet to freezer to set! I'm a HAPPY HAPPY girl! Enjoy yours too! and remember, you can make non dairy frozen desserts as well!

With the onions if you cut around the core leaving a bit at the base you won’t cry!!!! This works without failllll 💗

Regarding the onion problem: I find that if I make sure to not hover over the onion while I'm cutting it, but rather cut them while they're in front of me (like arms length) it makes my eyes tear up a lot less. Some onions are worse than others though, but I thought it might be worth a try

Grace, fellow onion cryer here! I cry so BADLY from onions, like it looks as if I'm really crying about something. A new trick I've been trying lately is a damp dishcloth right beside the cutting board where I'm chopping the onions and it seems to work! Something to do with the moisture sucking up the onion gas that makes you cry instead of the moisture in your eyes doing it? Anywho, worth a try!

Onions : refrigerate them . Keep the bottom bit on while you chop it up (not always possible but it sure helps when you can) - the onion is strongest in this area and makes you cry more. Have a window open and a fan on to blow the fumes away before they can reach your eyes. Wear swim goggles! Rinse particularly juicy onions under the cold tap // if juice gets on your hands rinse hands under cold water asap . These are my onion chopping tips . Personally , I keep onions in the fridge use a fan and rinse hands promptly and the tears are kept at bay xx

Put a teaspoon in your mouth when you're cutting onions! I have no idea how but it works for me 😂

A trick that works for me with onions is freezing them before I cut. I never tear up if I do that 👍

I cry to the point where I can't see at all when cutting up onions. So what I started doing is wearing a mask (yes like a covid mask) and chewing gum at the same time and it works sooo well.

I love all your content. I know it's a bit cliché but you are like a ray of sunshine on a cloudy day, a bright shining star on a cold dark night. Nothing can stop this Queen from shining 👑. Just a tip the Rum would've affected the freezing of the icecream and to speed up the soaking of the raisins in the Rum, just pop in the microwave for 30ish seconds.
