@@cosmicdebris2223 Relax, please. Aviation history is full of disastrous stepping stones getting to the amazing safety we are taking for granted too often these days. As single cars do not carry 150 passengers or more, an air accident is making more headlines that the daily road toll in some countries. A pilot once farewelled their passengers with this announcement: "Thank you for flying with us and please take care on the most dangerous part of your journey. Driving home."

Wikipedia lists Brasília-Orlando (BSB-MCO) on Gol Airlines on a 737 MAX 8, with a great-circle distance of 6079 km or 3777 miles and a scheduled flying time of 8:30 hours (probably an hour or so less than that of actual "wheels up" time). Here is a good tip for next time you are in perth: when you enter international departures and go up the escalator into the food court, follow the signs that point you north towards "Viewing area". Go up the sets of steps and there is a place to watch the planes take off and land all for free! I don't see why more people use that because it is an amazing place for planespotting.

Talking about "freedom"... Around 16 years ago Air NZ "bullied" Kiwi Air (1 leased 757) out of the Trans Tasman market with a few of their old 737s, later upgraded to brand new A320s, painted in the livery of their creation, Freedom Air. Apart from the traditional routes between NZ and Australia, they offered Melbourne - Dunedin. The closest one can get to this timesaver these days is Melbourne - Queenstown. Hello, Air NZ, just in case you are reading this, 1 flight per week to Dunedin direct from Melbourne will be a great bonus in your network still. Noel, if ever you get to Dunedin, they've got a great train station and an even greater train trip from there. Taieri Gorge. Dunedin, worth a diversion from the traditional sightseeing in Aotearoa / New Zealand.

Work as a dispatcher for a Canadian leisure airline here and we operate a nonstop flight between Punta Cana (PUJ) and Vancouver (YVR) on a 737MAX once per week which is 8h30 Westbound and 3320nm. We will sometimes tech stop due to headwinds or if the temperatures are too high down in PUJ we will not be able to physically fit the maximum amount of fuel in the tanks...

Air NZ every time. They used to have the coolest safety info videos - but it's years since I was last there.

Afternoon from Nottingham, Noel! Another great video, as always. I’m constantly amazed at the amount of airlines there are in the world. It seems as though a ‘new to me’ one pops up every now and then. Any plans to do another collab with Josh Cahill (the old relic) any time soon?

I wish you could spend more time exploring the terminals. I find that to be some of the most fun of my fight schedules. And it would be nice to see a few minutes of the best places to visit too. Perhaps an interview of some of the people you meet would be fun as well. I enjoy your work!

Yep, most of us won’t see the business class lounge so I’m more interested in the general areas of the terminal

AKL intl terminal landside is incredibly drab, i have seen bus stations with more character. downstairs it looks like a warehouse with bag wrapping stands and scales along one wall and check-in counters along the other. upstairs there is a convenience store and a maccas. airside is a bit better but not substantially so Domestic also doesn't have that much going, I'm pretty sure everything in there besides maybe the domestic bag claim was shown in passing
