Ive tried this as well on an ax that wasn't sharp enough to cut butter. It worked like a charm.

The only real downside I see is that now you need to keep your edge covered but that's probably good practice even with a "dull" axe.

An edge that grabs like that means it still has a burr

If you really think about it and realize it’s just a 90° corner made out of super hard steel and I am hand sculpting and edge and I use the word ripping some metal off even though it’s minutely basically unless I really want to get with it. It is impressive if you think about what I just did and accomplished. Thank you for watching. Have a great day.

It’s carbide from a lathe tool.

It’s the same material used on a lathe it’s not meant to sharpen anything it’s designed to be hard enough to TEAR metal. Don’t do this to your knives it’s horrible for the edge

When are people going to realize YOUR SHARPENER SHOULD NEVER EVER LEAVE SHAVINGS. Lord I can’t help these people. Save yourself come money go to a hardware store and buy a carbide lathe insert. $50?????? I’d get all of its from China for 15¢ per unit

Why the hell would you want a maul to be razor sharp? I prefer mine to not stick inside the wood when splitting.... Also unless the edge was properly sharpened before hand, you basically just created a sharp burr, or a wire edge if thats what you want to call it. The edge will be dull/folded over the moment it comes in contact with wood. He aint even holding a consistent angle. As other's have spoken, he is a true snake oil salesman.

U R so stupid and just plain ignorant. It is not a mall. It is more of an ax with a pounding device on the back. And U think the ax side only has a burr.
