Take a minute to hear about how inspections work and how you can check your own glider. It’s possible to receive a perfect inspection report and still have a glider that doesn’t behave well.

Forgot to mention -> for motor pilots the trick is to adjust the trimmer to the proper place but it’s helps to have an instructor with a keen eye to set it just right - also, it happens that old gliders have to be trimmed fast so they will come up above head but then they perform badly and can sometimes behave poorly if they deflate - then again -> new glider time

how many meters span is that glider??- also does the size of the glider effect how fast it will come above head?

If it does need to be trimmed, what would you do? Adjust one trimmer relative to the other?

My Skywalk Tequila 4 has never really wanted to come off the ground without some A-riser input since day one. Anyone else flying a Skywalk with similar behavior?

Did you buy it new? I've only flown one of those once, but I seem to recall it coming up nice.

Huh, well, maybe it is a characteristic of that glider? I can see it being a desirable trait (at least in the designer's mind) for a high-b. Considering many people on that glider will be taking it for their first flights in the mountains, maybe their goal was prevent unintentional inflations? Pure speculation. That said, I imagine you can still get useful info from Chris' test by doing your initial inflation with the A's. My approach would be to first bring it low & try to recover w/o A's. If that doesn't work but still recovers fast w/ A's I'd say probably good. If it takes a LOT of A input to come up from ~45°, I'd get it trim checked at least.

hi i recently brought a brand new dudek hadron 3 wing 22m I've been flying for over 12 years. the new wing is a nightmare to launch forward. trim setting at 3 . can you help. please super fly.

Thanks for your message, Tony. We can’t speak about that exact glider, but we can say that many times you need to adjust the trimmer to a point where the glider behaves the way you need it to for successful takeoff. I would strongly recommend that you consult with some other people who fly the same glider and see what they are using. Also an inspection might help a ton. Please play with some settings and do some inflations without the motor on your back and just generally make friends with that glider. See if you can find the sweet spot and then when you do share your results with people who actually fly that glider to make sure that You’re still within a decent range. Also good to chat with the distributor in your country. Let us know how it goes.

You said absolutely nothing about using the trimmers or even touched the trimming strap? You only talked about pulling the A lines and kiting the "Wing". It is NOT a sail! A WING is lateral and a SAIL is vertical!
@SuperFlyParaglidingSchool
@SuperFlyParaglidingSchool 2 жыл бұрын
Thanks for your message Robert. You may have noticed that the paraglider that I was using only has a speed system, no trim tab. You are right, you can restore a paraglider to trim using the trim tab aka trimmer. Please forgive me use of the word "sail" to refer to the fabric portion of the paraglider as it exists apart from the lines and risers. I appreciate your pointing out the nuance that a wing is horizontal and a sail is vertical. It's so important to be precise with our words. I used the word sail to point to the idea that its often the fabric that loses its shape rather than the lines changing length. This word choice is partially due to this portion of the paraglider being made from sailcloth. Again thanks for chiming in. I hope that we get to meet and especially fly together someday. If you are ever in Utah, please drop by.
