In a career that dates back to the start of the sixties he has had top selling singles, released ground breaking albums, composed the Grammy and Oscar winning film score for "Shaft", supplied the voice of Chef in "South Park" and written innumerable hit songs for other artists.
Isaac Hayes has made several appearances at Montreux but this one, his most recent appearance from 2005, undoubtedly captures him at his very best with trademark performances of all his best known tracks.

This performance is part of the unique Claude Nobs Foundation audio-visual collection, included since 2013 in the UNESCO Memory of the World Register. From Aretha Franklin or Miles Davis to David Bowie or Prince, more than 5’000 concerts have been recorded LIVE both in audio and video since the creation of the Montreux Jazz Festival in 1967 by Claude Nobs.

The Montreux Jazz Festival takes place for two weeks every summer in Switzerland, drawing 250,000 music lovers to the shores of Lake Geneva. ❤ Isaac Hayes was a music genius! I love how his songs always had the long and amazing intros. It's like he wanted everyone to feel the vibe before he started singing. His smooth deep vocals added to the fire of his music. I've been a fan since day one. Thank God for sharing him with the world. He will be remembered forever and ever. Rest in heavenly peace Mr. Hayes.

Isaac looked in great shape for someone who had a stroke a year after this performance and died of a stroke two years after that. Not the longest life but he went out still in peak musical and physical form
