Lyrics:
There's an angel in the window
On a West Virginia church door swinging open
And he's pointing to the exit sign
Said, "You'll never walk on water
If you wait until the river's frozen over"
In the Shenandoah summer
Well, it was almost heaven
Choirs singing in robes of white
Almost heaven
Lovers laying side by side but
When we reach forever
Will there be a place where you and I may find home?
So I keep a candle burning
And I pray to see that Saint I knew for certain
But it's just my own reflection now
And that silhouette in the window
Is the shape of someone I don't quite remember
Dancing in the fire
Well, it was almost heaven
Choirs singing in robes of white
Almost heaven
Lovers laying side by side but
When we reach forever
Will there be a place where you and I may find home?
In heaven
I'll make a room for you
If you stay, you'll rise on me now
Lover, you can lean on me
Love, I can lift you higher
Say I'm making a room for you
Will you keep your eyes on me now?
Lover, lean on me
Love, I can lift you higher
Oh, I can lift you higher, oh
And it was almost heaven
(Choirs singing in robes of white)
Oh, it was almost heaven
(Lovers laying side by side but)
Oh, when we reach forever
Will there be a place where you and I may find home?
In heaven
Make our home in heaven

This song written by Jerimiah Lloyd Harmon He played this song to the judges when he auditioned for American idols and i followed and supported him since then and when Isak post the title of the song on social media and the first time i saw it. It just reminded me of Jerimaih’song that i have heard and love called Almost heaven and A few minutes ago when i heard the first few seconds of the intro then i just knew that it is the same song and i am so happy cuz i love this song so so much and i love both versions of this song and Thank you so much for sharing this and singing this for us!! 🙏😍

I was gonna say all these things! When the piano played i knew for one moment it was Jeremiah's original! Isak made justice to this. The harmony, the echo sound vibe. The timbre of his voice kinda thick as opposite to Jeremias quite thin voice.. This is my song! 😍

That was a good season on AI. My favorite song Jeremiah did was "Who wants to live forever" by Queen-I love that song. Isak could really do that one justice as well

Wow. I had no idea. I know he’s on on Universal now and maybe they just handed him a song. Pretty weird that it hasn’t been mentioned at all. I definitely thought it was Isak’s original. Still, I have to say that Isak’s voice and arrangement definitely lifts the song and it’s a damn impressive cover by him. 🤍

@@EF.music. It’s a beautiful cover, yes. Both Jeremiah and Isak have impressive vocal ranges, and they definitely nailed it. I especially love that Isak kept true to the original song’s story and chose to feature a same sex relationship, as the original song deals with Jeremiah’s struggle with familial rejection because of his homosexuality.

"How can you be in love if you don't know what love is". The truest thing ever said. It takes time to learn that lesson and sadly that means also going through abusive relationships.

Spot-on! When you grow up in an environment where love is but an abstraction (because of unfit parents, for example), once a grown-up yourself, you find it very difficult to trust anyone, let alone set up your own definition of love and put it into practice. Now there's a detail in what I've just watched, the book the guy is reading. There might be something interesting in it, I think I want to delve into it. Not that the song in itself is not worth its salt, mind you! A very good one indeed!
@Dermacrosis
@Dermacrosis 27 күн бұрын
@@HessepeQuhaire Unfit parents is the easy excuse. Friendship is love, and growing up friends are a strong influence. I grew up at time when a certain type of abuse was only associated with adults yet I suffered it at the hands of another kid in my school that I thought of as a friend due to my own naivete. Even if I had realised it at the time reporting it would have gone nowhere as children couldn't do that was the mindset of the time. That's without going outside of the "stranger danger" message of the time.
@HessepeQuhaire

@@Dermacrosis I understand what you mean. But believe me, unfit parents is not at all the easy excuse. I should know: parental love was a thing I was denied. And such a scar can never heal.
@Dermacrosis
@Dermacrosis 23 күн бұрын
@@HessepeQuhaire It is the easy excuse if you are one of them or using it as "society" forgetting it "takes a village to raise a child". My father, note the wording, didn't like me and so could never love me, he would have preferred if I was the 8th failed pregnancy. He hated I wasn't. I realised that when I was around 5 years old so I know how much that hurts and can't be healed. Lordy even recently I wasn't even mentioned by him when one of the family my mum is still in contact with told her my father would like to reconnect with. Because of that she to him to say it would never happen. I am grateful none of his pathetic bigoted attitudes are part of me.

@@Dermacrosis I don't mean to be rude but that is poppycock. Read Kafka's "Letter To His Father", or "The Glass Menagerie" by Tennessee Williams, or Salinger's "The Catcher In The Rye", for example, and then maybe we'll be able to resume from where we are leaving off today.

My first love very definitely followed the path of this video. There was so much pain when it didn't work I couldn't process it. I just wanted to just disappear under the waves myself. Thirty years later I find this extraordinary video and song. There are still tears, but the pain has been dulled by the opiate of thousands of days. What remains are the bittersweet memories, which this sublime work of art perfectly encapsulates. Young sir, your work will continue, and you'll shine brightly for decades long beyond my time. Please keep plucking at the heart strings of the admirers sure to follow me. Peace and love. ❤❤❤

When you look into the sun, without sunglasses ofcourse!, you feel the power come inside you. And then you know it is given to you, that higher power. And you realize that you cannot give it away anymore. You feel that other people take it away from you, it's called draining your energy. So look into the sun, feel your power grow and don't ever give it away again.

When you once activated your addiction centre in your brain, you will never stop clinging to other people. It's never a one-stuff addiction. It is the brain who cannot let go of anything or anyone. The endless "need" for everything. Never get attached with an addict.

I've been listening this on repeat. This song, this voice, just wow. Am I the only one, who truly loves this song, this guy, this video, just everything. 2020 wanted us to feel awful, but this brought me such a good feeling. This song just understands me, didn't know it could. Isak, your other songs are the absolute best, but this one, wow. Sending only good vibes, that u can be happy as you are

I feel like this was Isak discovering new realms of himself (and of life). The way he cuts his hair shows there was a change, probably something he did not expect but he dove in the feeling. A change of heart or/and mind. There is love and life being questioned, in a way that both should resemble each other. Everything has an end, even love. Everything fades. You can treat the plot has a love story or as a self discovery, since the other person seems to know the answers to everything in a way Isak does not (at least it is portrayed like that). Or maybe it's just Isak answering himself in his mind and handling the fact that life is absurd and there's no meaning to it.
