I like Calypso and Mento..... the latter much influenced later Jamaican music..... eg Rough Rider - Prince Buster was a Mento tune......... Unfortunately for Calypso and Soca tradition seems to make it reluctant to put a strong bass into their tunes...... sadly I feel this is what sidelines it....... until that day.... carnival and party and not the world dancefloors will be were it gets air play.........
