being a Malaysian myself, I am immensely proud on the achievement of this young lady doctor. she is a perfect role model for the young malaysian (male or female) in delivering the best one could for the betterment of society and humankind.. alhamdulillah, Malaysia is considered a relatively progressive muslim country where women are having equal opportunities as the opposite gender. In fact the number female students in the universities far out number their male counterparts.

MashaAllah, I was struggling in my profession (I'm dentist) by using hijab. Sometimes it was coming off during procedures. Sometimes I was to tie again and I didn't know what was the infected side. InshaAllah, now I have the answer to this problem. May Allah bless You!

Before surgeons are qualified to operate, they must meet a set of challenging education requirements. These generally include four years of undergraduate study, four years of medical school leading to a Doctor of Medicine (M.D.) degree, and three to eight years of surgical residency at a hospital. Sister look very young for surgeon, I'm amazed, congratulations sister. I wanted to become a doctor myself but I'm terrified of an open flesh.

MashaAllah sister I’m a paediatric cardiologist in Australia, I remember having all these difficulties during training where I’ve settled with NICU with wearing the disposable yellow gowns when examining babies. As for theatre, as we are involved in some procedures, I had a seperate hijab for theatre that some did not like but could not dare to object as Alhamdolilah I made it clear that it’s not negotiable and it’s like others having their own hats. It’s lovely and inspirational to see a young Muslim doctor actually setting up all of this for the wider Muslim community. Jazaky Allah khayran sister ❤️

Well done Dr Farah Totally concur on the point regarding NHS role in maintaining diversity of religion and culture practice at work place. I used to work at Royal Infirmary of Edinburgh ....they even created a space for prayer and ablution area within the hospital building.

I'm a doctor too Alhumdulillah...Graduated last year...and tbh this was on my mind since the first time we entered the OTs to only watch the procedures... Bcuz you gotta get "sterilised" scrubs to get in there...I used to even wonder how do my Hijabi batchmates get in there... The infection is definitely a concern...and we had nothing to replace the Hijab...I could never really figure out exactly bcuz the students in my group were all non Hijabis.. I was like.. Maybe if we can get them sterilised hijabs like what we do with surgical gowns then maybe that'll make their lives easy... Bcuz that concern is definitely real....and just like Mam said here...it can be one of the reasons why Hijabi sisters don't get into surgical branches... And trust me... Watching something like this happening in any part of the world makes me really hopeful... Love from India 😍... Always wondered why your videos don't have any comments...

As a female cardiac anaesthetist, I don’t see fasting and prayer as something that hinder my career. We work extra long hours and sometimes we don’t have time to eat before Fajr or after Maghrib. But I usually resort to taking some water to drink at those times and just eat when I have the time. I even prayed in the operation theatre when a surgery had gotten too long beyond prayer time. It’s really all in your mind.
