Aloha Shin! In the California Hotel is the OG Hawaiian style restaurant Aloha Specialties! You gotta try them! Hawaiian food is the ethnic cuisine of Hawaiian people( laulau, poi) Hawaiian style is a mixture of different cultural foods. For example, you start off with Lumpia which is Filipino. It's really important to ethnic Hawaiians (like me) that the public doesn't think brown gravy is an actual Hawaiian food. Absolutely love your videos. Mahalo!!

@@VegaswithShinHeads Up: the reason the California Hotel Casino has such a large Hawaiian clientele is because Boyd Gaming Corp offers huge discounts and coupons to only Hawaii residents. Their marketing program for Hawaii is unique for sure, but it's made them very popular with Hawaiians visiting Las Vegas. So the restaurants, bars and retail are affordable for Hawaiian visitors, but the prices for everyone else are expensive.

You literally never have to say if you love a bite. Your facial expression says it all. I hope these restaurants catch on how you will drive business towards them if they are good and start comping your meals. Im definitely going there and will mention Shin sent me! I don't mind paying for my meals. I'm not doing KZfaq for the money. I'm perfectly happy with my day job as it covers my normal life. KZfaq is a hobby for me which is why I'm able to put everything I make off the channel back into the next videos. My actual goal of the channel is to have a vlog on every non-chain restaurant on the strip and downtown on the channel eventually and have a full complete collection. And this year I thought it would be nice to also throw local businesses some extra attention along the way so I started my Tuesday series. I will add Fukuburger to the list! Thanks for watching!

Whoa that looked ono. Hard to find good local hawaiian food outside of hawaii. You're right shin, good teriyaki beef doesn't need to be drenched in sauce. Garlic shrimp looked yums. Hey no kimchee with the kalbi? Haha and yes that spam musubi looked sad. Nice video shin.

Hi Shin, loved this one. Pretty limited menu but Hawaiian can be like that. I have been to Hawaii and the Philippines and enjoyed you're trying the dishes. Yes, those shrimp looked fantastic!. I have an Island Flavor Express near me, on Eastern and Pebble area. I love the Roast Pork loco moco and the Furikake chicken. The various Tuna Poke’s are great as well.

Yay! I forgot it was Tuesday. Looks really good. Kalbi ribs and chicken katsu with the katsu sauce are my favorite. I was jealous when you bit into the chicken katsu and it was so krispy. The music was so loud at 7:05 we could hardly hear you.

I’m looking forward to trying this restaurant on my next trip. The garlic shrimp and teriyaki steak look great! I hope the rice is a little more starchy/sticky than what you show in the video, but the price is definitely right! Just a suggestion, consider including more details on the location of off-Strip restaurants. The receipt did show Durango Avenue, but knowing the cross street would be helpful. Another great video!

I'm a beef lover so thise short ribs looked very good.🤩 I don't eat eggs so would have to pass on the "loco" dish...sorry I forgot the name of it. Reasonable prices too! Great video Shin. Thanks for sharing 👍💯

I love chicken katsu so I am very happy that this restaurant prepared it so well. Great review on foods that most of us don’t know. Directions on how to find local dining would help. Access is important for newcomers.

We had the best Hawaiian food at Straight Up Cafe. The Kailua pork was the best we ever had, and the kalbi beat most of the kalbi we tried in Hawaii. The desserts were also tasty. You must try it sometime. Your reviews are exceptional!

Great video. Pretty much everything looked great, but my favorites have to be Loco moco, garlic shrimp, and I would love to try that sampler platter. I had Loco moco before, and loved it. Always like garlic and shrimp, so the two would be heavenly together. I only ever had chicken katsu, but the other two dishes looked great. Never had hawaiian Mac salad, but heard it's supposed to be good. Thanks for letting us tag along. I'm hungry now. 😅

Thank you for another GREAT food review. The local island foods looks good (ono) ... too bad the spam musubi did not have furikake or teriyaki sauce. Like how you ate the mixed plate with chopsticks just like a lot of Hawaii locals do. MAHALO!

Shin, you should check out Picanha. It’s a really amazing Brazilian restaurant and very affordable. We go there about once a week and it’s always good. It honestly rivals Strip restaurants. Try the Mac n cheese and the ribeye. Can’t recommend it enough. PS. You should also try Big Chicken. Best chicken sandwich I’ve found.

VWS: Absolutely loved the vlog and food. Since I am part Hawaiian and it's the birthplace of my Mother I was familiar with all of your food choices. Pipikaula ( hanging beef) is really what is served in Hawaii instead of the short ribs which is more Korean as you know well. Chicken long rice would have been another authentic dish. Price was super good. Anywho thanks for the effort. See you Saturday for another crime scene lol JK 😜

Way to tough it out through 4 rounds of Hawaiian food. The meal started off with average starters but made it up big time with great tasting entrees. The color of gravy looks questionable but I'm glad you enjoyed the flavor of it. I wish they had more pupus such as salmon lomi lomi and more varieties of poke.

Gotta go to ELIA for great Greek food. The Greek salad could be the best one in the entire USA. it’s phenomenal. The lamb souvlaki is also very good, but the salad is insane. Oh, by the way I hate salad in general.

Island flavor used to be so much better 5+ years ago owners sold it prices went way up and portions decreased in size we would go about once a week and we don’t go anymore

liked the video-and restaurant-as a tourist if I came to Vegas-is this place easy to get to by Uber/Lyft-or by bus, or by cab ?-or just have a friend who lives there drive you-these are nice places-just want to know if its easy to get to

refreshing exploring regular restaurants... help out the local guys... The casinos/hotels/buffets in LV aint trying anymore to excel...(compared to similar around the world)... They're happy to serve the same old slop, and have the rubes pay for their overpriced swill...

In Hawaii they make it with teriyaki sauce the spam is soak in the Teri sauce than wrap.
