I would like to add that in Weinlesefest, Venti straight up manipulates time to bring back memories to others. He even tells us that he summons "the winds of the past" when doing so. Just some food for thought on his connection with Istaroth 👀

If someone says that Venti is sus, the first thing that always comes into my mind is his hello voiceline. I feel like not enough people talk how sus this voiceline is! My favorite theory is that Venti met the traveler in their dream during the 500 years sleep (though I guess this fits Nahida more than Venti?)

Another random little fact which reinforces Mondstadt's sussiness for me (discovered a long while ago): Genshin's main theme (which plays everytime we enter the game) in a couple of variations plays only somewhere in Mondstadt. Never in other nations

I also think it's interesting and sus that in every cameo he has in time-limited events, he acts as a catalyst of stories. He's the one with the very convenient intervention at the right timing and help that moves forward the plot. Like he constantly says, "seeds of stories, brought by the wind and cultivated by time." Even in more macro contexts, like befriending the nameless Bard, waking up right in Vennessa's time to help kickstart the revolt, or waking up a little before we arrive to Mondstadt, and I think it's super convenient of him. It also sort of echoes how Istaroth's main known contributions (Enkanomiya, Sacred Sakura...) seem so convenient as well. I think this is his role in the universe and maybe the reason why Istaroth created him (assuming she did), to be an agent of stories first and being a god is just secondary. He gives people the little push to begin a story or lets the right people to meet when they get stuck. Anyway, analyzing the things Venti does in events, and more important the consequences of these seemingly arbitrary actions or interactions, is always interesting to me

The reason i think that Venti was not affected by the irminsul is because he was born from branches of time which is different from the irminsul. if i remember correctly there's lot of quest that mention that time was work differently and they can bind and move differently than the teyvat itself. I think every branch have their own ruler (probably the shades). Nahida to irminsul ruler still unknown Venti to branch of time, and the ruler is istharoth.

I definitely agree with the fact that Venti is not affected by Irminsul. I sort of already mentioned this on Reddit, but if you look at the full line "Full of mystery, born from the branches of time, A history of glory and sorrow, and witness to the divine" there is an interesting part that rarely gets mentioned and it's the last section: "WITNESS TO THE DEVINE." Initially, I too had overlooked this part, but after the whole Sumeru Archon quest and we learn about how Irminsul can erase memories and that only the traveler was unaffected, it brought me back to Zhongli, who at the end of his story quest called the Traveler a WITNESS. At the time, no one really knew what Zhongli meant by that, but now we do. The word "Witness" in context to Genshin means "Someone able to retain the truth after experiencing it and thus serves as a witness of the world." That Mihoyo should also use the same term to describe Venti, someone who we already know can preserve memories using songs and poetry, seems like a very intentional choice. And not only is Venti described as a witness, but a witness of the DIVINE. Meaning, he's probably well aware of the real truths about the world and the Gods. For even greater proof, look no further than the webcomic. In the comic when Venti literally talks about Gaia, Pangu, and Ymir and how the world was formed by them. How the hell does he even know about any of that stuff??? Wasn't he supposedly a wisp born like two thousand years ago or so? How can he witness divine events? My guess is, the whole game is indeed a Samsara that repeats over and over again after a certain amount of time has passed. Maybe at the end of the game, we are leading up to some kind of apocalyptic event and it's up to the traveler to change the fate of Teyvat. Maybe Venti has lived through many Samsaras. That, or perhaps, through his connection to Istaroth, is just simply able to access information about the world and divinity that other beings just aren't able to.

Jean states that the Cryo gods fatui have always coveted the anemo gods power. Mondstadt is considered equal in jeans opinion and venti is one the original 7. I don’t think we should underestimate venti. He cogoverned with istaroth. He could have knowledge about time and Fate and maybe the anemo god can to a degree alter fate. It’s suspicious that he’s awake right now at the same time as the traveler is awake.

We know Venti was stated to originally be a "Wind Spirit", throughout the game we've never seen, heard or come across any other material that talk about "Wind Spirits" (as far as I know). The closest thing I would say is the Eye of the Storm enemies, so far they are the only creature of it's kind in the game, also they are 1 of the only enemies that do not drop materials. Anyways, we know Venti was a wind spirit, but what if Venti was actually a Seelie, lost it's original form, memories and former glory. Then throughout it's adventures it started to gain back it's powers. We know Venti now as a male character only because he took the form of his dead friend, but what if Venti's original form, lost to his memories was actually a kin to the moon sisters.

weird thought: what if Venti is assembling Teyvat's ver of avengers, he been to Inazuma, dunno if he met with Ei. He also went to Liyue and met with Zhongdong.

Its pretty comfirmed that venti knows the past,present and future(at leasts songs from past present and future). When in his trailer it also mentions"witness to the divine". This might mean he knows something about celestia that the other archons might not know or he knows info about istaroth that the other archons might not have. There r theories that under mond is khanderiah due to shadows below the main city in the middle of cider lake which is not impossible. Another thing that popped into my mind is that the anti clockwise statue part. Due to the statue going anti clockwise, it might mean that we r going backwards of the abyss siblings journey. Its weird but why not.

I feel like before the end of Genshin's story, we will go back to Mondstadt for the conclusion. Mondstadt's characters are so intertwined with Genshin's lore macro-wise compared to other regional characters. Just look at Kaeya, Varka, Venti, Alice, and Albedo. Specially Venti. Some of them has something to do with the cataclysm, alchemy, khaen'riah, Celestia with Vanessa. If I look at Inazuman characters, only Raiden has something to do with the more foundational lore of Teyvat since she's an archon. The same applies for other regions with the exception being their archon. Maybe the only region akin to Mondstadt's lore is Snezhnaya with the Tsaritsa's purported rebellion against Celestia.

Yeah, I've always wondered why Anemo and geo have no reaction but Zhongli and Venti are like closest friends Anemo and dendro also have no reaction but in lore they're always heavily connected Just like how Sucrose is close to Albedo but more connected to Collei in the windblume event (welp this is just a bit of a stretch) Viridescent artifact is for anemo but the story within is about forest. Husk of opulent dream is for geo but the character mentioned is now an anemo Despite people are talking of how anemo boys saved the traveler I also would like to believe that anem characters seem to be protected somehow one way or another. Kazuha was given power by his dead friend, his family history came to light when *Venti* visited Inazuma, and during archipelago which in fact a place that is also still heavily related to Barbatos. Xiao tried to sacrifice himself in chasm but was saved by *Zhongli.* Venti also ease his karma occasionally. Wanderer was taken in by *Nahida.* Though I'm not sure if he'll have interaction with Venti in the future Faruzan is probably a similar case. She was saved by following the wind, and still alive because her time stopped. I think Faruzan's case is literally "Seeds of story *brought* by the *wind* and *cultivated* by *time."*

Since venti was born from branches of time, i think venti is actually Istaroth's new incarnation like how nahida is the new Greater lord Rukkkahdhfjsa. And it would make sense if Venti can evolve into the new god of wind and time. Would also explain why he has memories of moments in time. Simply knowing allegories wont be enough to decipher its meaning without knowing the context. So to know the context there needs a nudge* in the right direction. Like how traveler nudged nahida into remembering what happened with wanderer and stuff after the quest.

It would be interesting if Venti turns out to actually be Istaroth.

The fact that his 2nd story quests hasnt been realeased means that hoyo is SAVING it for the future,And also taking time to make it almost perfect,almost like trying to not mess it up/rush it,Which means that venti's lore WILL be a game changer to the whole lore of genshin,and could just rewrote all that we know,+its mentioned in one of talkwithaster's video,Venti IS a really iconic character,Being (im pretty sure) the first limited 5*,the first archon,And one of the first person we met.

Wait, you say that one of Genshin's main plots are about samsara, and how that would be a usual thing, but I don't remember seeing anything like that outside of Sumeru ? I also think the statue is pointing at Windrise's tree, which is where Venessa ascended, hence "the gateway of Celestia" because this is where the gates opened to her specifically. But anyway, I love your theory! I always thought Mondstadt and Venti are more important than we think at first. I'm also starting to think that all the problems of our nation is a kind of foreshadowing to understand Celestia : - Mondsadt, freedom : Celestia doesn't let people of Teyvat be free because of constellations - Liyue, contract : Breakinga a contract with Celestia means inevitable destruction - Inazuma, eternity : Linked to my own theory, but forcing people to have certain ambitions because of their constellation - Sumeru, wisdom : Teyvat being a whole samsara cycle that can't exactly advance because of constellations

It’s really interesting that Venti is connected to Italian words, since in music (in particular classical music and music theory) many words come from Italian. So the fact that his name literally means “winds” in Italian (or “twenty”, that perhaps can have some connections to him by being the second meaning of his name) and Aria means “air” i think is not a coincidence and there is gonna be something deeper that connects all (could be from is backstory and Istaroth and the moon sisters or from something that is going to happen)

Forth possibility: referring to the time we stumbled on him in the forest while trying to calm down Dvalin and this is all a big misunderstanding (we didn't get a good look at him but he did see us).

the theory about the game ending in mondstadt is such a good one. especially with the theme of samsara. considering venti has apparently met MC before, it’s not a stretch to think MC & twin could’ve gone to celestia in this way before the events of the game/the first cut scene. like how did they even get to the exit in the first place without knowing the way before hand 🤔

Given the new stories - yes I believe that it all comes back to Mondstat and Venti.

Okay so I always had a feeling something was up with a clock, btw we dont have clocks in game anywhere, like functional clock. Traveler has one, but one hand is missing and i think its the one that points the seconds, moments- Istaroth. And then Dottore said to Nahida that Time dimension doesn’t exist in Teyvat thats how he placed the segments. Now, i think its one giant Samsara and I think that the BP trailer, the pale princess and possibly Dain are linked to that. How? Well, here is my theory: Samsara starts once something comes in Teyvat. Remember those 4 crowns we had? That is only artfact “set” that is just crown, and its talking about 3 previous samsara’s and the current one where Celestia is silent (like nahida said in archon quest). I think there is always pair of siblings/lovers that come to teyvat, one gets stuck (probably recorded in irminsul) and the other one needs to basically Become Celesia, to keep the peace and stability of Teyvat. Thats how I think the game will probably end, knowing Hoyo it has to be sad af, like us freeing our sibling from the link they have to this world but we will have to stay behind, or maybe Paimon will take our place making ultimate sacrifice for her- abandoning the Traveler..

In the latest quest Caribert, we saw ourselves as our sibling. Maybe this has something with Venti saying we meet again. He probably saw our sibling in us and hence is very secretive and doesn't tell us anything

1:30 I think... In the end, we well be ascending to the abyss together with our twin using the portal on the musk reef island. Then we again encounter sustainer, like we did in the "beginning"... and thus, a new cycle of teyvat's samsara began

My opinion on venti's voice line was that he was saying hello again because in the beginning of the game where we first see dvalin and venti, i just thought it was referencing that moment since he did also notice us there. but really cool theory on that voiceline!!!

It's also sus where he went when he left Mondstaft. Like, the deal with Dvalin terrorizing the city seemed like it was brewing for some time and he could easily go back to Mondstadt if he was just wandering around stealing wines in various places, unless he's gone somewhere maybe perhaps out of Teyvat. He mentioned about creation myths from distant worlds in the manga. Perhaps he's also a descender?

We also don’t know how old he actually is. Sure he is 2,600+ since he got his human form but we don’t know how long he’s been as a wind spirit. We also don’t know his true strength.

And Dream Aria is sung by Venti's chinese va, miao jiang, and in the beta version there was allegedly an actual lyrics what is really pretty tbh! And Venti plays a few tunes from Dream Aria in his idle with his idle!

I think many of us already know how sus Venti's "Hello" voice is ("Then allow me to join on your quest ONCE AGAIN") but while doing Mondstadt's Archon quest (again) I noticed that at the end Venti says something similar: "Traveler, as you sat off on your journey ONCE AGAIN, you must remember that the journey itself has a meaning". Some of us were thinking that Venti's Voice line is just a joke between him and Traveler (that's what I thought too) but I think this another line comfirms that it's not a joke and this is probably our second journey. Probably some of you already knew that but I still wanted to share it because I find it really interesting!

Remember the first time we fight dvalin with our "ameno machine gun " ? , we were like 99999 feets from the ground, which is probably high enough for us to reach celestia

I think venti means meeting him with the dragon or some people say he greeted us with anemo power at the first statue but i didnt pay that much attention in the early gameplay… but theory about it being his sister or story repeating itself may be some way true… maybe traveler dint wake up after 500 years but we somehow dont remember what happened… idk but also venti is og god and good source of info + he can make some incredible things and often is just too lazy or acts like he isnt powerful. Mondstads is clearly highly connected to time so noticing the city clock thing is also very interesting

Venti is related to time, in his first voice line it proves that venti is able to go to the future or the past. Plus, when you use the time tool in the paimon menu, everything stops except for the blowing of the wind/ the wind's impact of it's surroundings.

I think with every new region we’ll find something new that connects to Venti, in the end of the game, hopefully, we’ll have a bigger understanding of who that drunkard really is, and what he represents

Venti also says in the voiceline 'about venti' that he knows all the songs in Teyvat. If the cycle is true his voiceline could be hinting at it. Venti knows all songs past and future, maybe this is how he retains his memories. Nahida knows SOME stories and songs to help her remember. Also venti Specifies in Teyvat which could mean venti knows the truth of Teyvat. Venti is old, he knows of your sibling but he saw what happened and decided to not make the same mistake with you. As you go through his voiceline he makes a song about you. He could be doing this so he doesn't forget you. venti could be actively fighting the cycle, and you a being from out side the cycle could break it.

even before this video came out, I've already had the theory of a time loop in mind. I think that the fact that the game started with the with between us and our sibling vs the sustainer of heavenly principles. What if the sustainer was putting us in a time loop/dream all along? What if we never woke up? think about the warnings. Our sibling told us that by the end of the journey we'll realize what's this and that. Scara saying that the sky is false. What also made me realize is Dain saying in the trailer about a final door/destination.

The secret of Genshin impact and Teyvat is actually so simple. How? We just need to understand Hoyovers's mind by looking at Honkai impact & star rail for example. The Key Words for genshin impact is: Isekai, Reincarnation, Mythology, Gods, Historical, Spacetime, Astronomy, and Fictionalogy.

I really believe that as far as we know one witch of the Hexzenchilcle (I don´t know how to write it) can know when changes have been made on Irminsul, and It´s not weird that Venti having relationship with the witches can also be inmune to that, Venti and Zhongli are by far the most mysterious characters for me, apart from Alice and other characters that we still haven´t meet

I rather think the 'connection' between Nahida and Venit is simply that Nahidas story is used to introduce certain concepts. such as memory loss vs reality cannot be changed and yes the branch thing* but I feel all archon stories are meant to introduce concepts in order to understand the final one. Zhongli is about erosion ("time kills everyone, even gods"), raiden created conscious space to freeze eternity (freezing time), etc. *there are videos pointing out who venti might be (he was just a wind spirit before becoming an archon) but that wind spirit could be a "branch" of some being that 'exploded' into many tiny little pieces (=wind spirits) to save itself or something else. Also, there are videos pointing out that Venit might be one of the 4 shades of the primordial one, aka the god of death. then there is the endless cycle subject, which is basically a 'space' created by a god (namely, who else than god of time makes most sense when it's about endless cycles?) AND god of time is the one really connected to venit (and we all know how lots of theories point to who it is....) so my theory: God of time created a space what we know as teyvat and we're in an endless cycle because the truth/real world is maybe completely destroyed or something like that. Venti is the only one remembering everything because either he's one of the 4 shades (god of death would know all shit happening) and/or he's that branch thing of another being that existed outside the cycle. Maybe he's not even old up by the cycle.

What if the three moon sister's are a pieces of the god of time (like gnosis) Which is understandable because venti us related to istaroth which explains his connection to the moon.

My guess, the gods are born from the irminsul branches , like what if Zhongli is born from the branches under irminsul as in the roots as he is the oldest of the seven, then it just goes up from the branches, branches having their own meaning in a way??? Idk just an idea
