I think Venti knows what's happening which was why he didn't fight. He knows all stories & and tales, including future ones, so hopefully he knew what he was doing letting it go.

I’ve always found it beautifully ironic that the God of Freedom had the Queen gnosis. Yes the Queen piece is the one that is most free to move on the chest board but also the most constrained by the player as the most valued piece. If we take this idea and apply it to Venti, he had the freedom to move however he pleased but was tightly constrained by Celestia as one of their most valued pawns.

hoyoverse knows that the moment they release ventis second quest is when they are going to give some serious answers his value in the whole story is undeniable and since players are more likely to take their time with the story when they start playing he is the most iconic character in the whole game which why they can't afford to mess things up in a story involving him

His character get's always reduced to "drunk" and "lazy" but he has so much going on... like it's amazing 'cause we know Venti but not Barbatos, even MC says it in one of his voicelines "that was the first time we've seen him as Barbatos". Cannot wait for them to let us know more about him, we still don't even know who is mad at him for coming back (archon quest when we go to the tree for the first time and a storm eye appears for the first time)... so many mysteries.

Ah, I love this so much. As much as I love clown Venti being viewed by the fandom, I also love his Barbatos side. He always carried that wise air around him whenever he's in his Barbatos form. I really love Mondstadt and it's lore.

I have been wondering for a while now why people don't talk more about Venti's queen chess piece. It's suspicious as fuck. I think Venti getting his ass beat by Signora, losing his gnosis, and claiming that he's the "weakest of the archons" is just a bunch of red herrings to point us away from the truth. While your theory was more about Venti's gnosis being developed as a queen because of his beliefs of freedom and such, I actually believe there is more to it than that. While Venti isn't a pawn anymore, the queen is still a chess piece, which means it is still being manipulated by some unknown force on a board. I believe that unknown force to be Celestia, and the reason Venti's chess piece is shaped like a queen is because that's how Celestia views him on their board (so they designed it in that image when they granted it to him). He has a high value to them, probably because he's far stronger than he is letting on, and his connection to Istaroth the god of time. They know Venti's true power but Venti doesn't want to bow to them anymore which is why he allowed Signora to take his gnosis. Like you said, Mondstadt will probably become really important once we start reaching the end-game of Genshin, and my prediction is that it's around that time when we will be able to see the true power and knowledge that Venti is hiding. I feel like a lot of the people who take the Signora beating up Venti and Venti telling people he's the weakest of the archons at face value will be in for a surprise. That freaking tone-deaf bard is not fooling my ass.

If you look at Venti's Character Demo and pause at the part when Venti summons his lyre, it says "Full of Mystery, Born from the Branches of Time. A History of Glory and Sorrow, and Witness to the Divine."

Yes, he’s an observer. Most likely because he knew things. During the Inazuma festival during all the mysterious letters, I’m intrigued by Venti’s attitude about the case, he immediately was like: relax, just wait, I got a feeling we will get more clues later at the right time. Throwing some crumbs here and there, like he knew that Moment is not going to happen before its time. Was Ayato telling him the details about the whole mysterious letter scenario, even its relation to the Inazuman Clans' history? So how close are they? How? For what? His core personality is chill. And one of the logical reasons for one to be able to be that chill is because they don’t have the fear of the unknown, either he doesn’t give a f*** about everything or, he knew everything.

part of what makes Venti so compelling is how deliberately "unreliable" a narrator he is: he makes a show of cutting himself short, of undermining his observations with self-deprecation, of emphasizing his "accidentally" revealing more than he "should". A subtle side-effect of Venti's affected "unreliability" as a narrator is his alluding to we, the players, that we, the TRAVELER, are ALSO an unreliable narrator: Venti tacitly reminds us of the distinction between what Paimon (the true audience surrogate) knows versus what The Traveler knows. More, Venti casts doubt on what The Traveler BELIEVES they know (in a manner that is almost kind) by alluding to information he "assumes" we know already and then "walking it back" when Paimon voices her confusion. The very first conversation between The Traveler and Venti begins with Venti's suggesting that they already know each other - this can be interpreted as Venti's mistaking us for our twin (doubtful), Venti's referring to our presence in Khaenriah, and/or even as an implication that The Traveler is not only missing "time" but "memories" (which is further suggested during the Electro Archon quest, with the quicktime breaking from a mental affliction, and again throughout the Chasm questline). Then again, as we are given more and more lore on Istaroth and on the different worlds/domains of Teyvat, it is ALSO possible that Venti (like Dainsleiff in some trailer voice overs) is alluding to knowing the Traveler (and even BOTH Travelers)... through other timelines. There are allusions to the Abyss Sibling having rewritten time and having "completed their journey", the same (perhaps almost EXACTLY) journey their twin walks now. Multiple Timelines would also solve the issue of making "canonical" one twin as Traveler/Abyss Sibling over the other, especially if time loops are involved wherein either twin has had both roles at least once. (but this is all highly hypothetical guesswork & assumes much from very little)

I saw Venti and queen in the title I was about to say “YAAAAS VENTI MY QUEEN”

Freedom as an ideal is the one that oposes the most against the idea of a God and adoration, the reason why Venti likes to be just another person among the many people in monstadt and for people to be free is the most meaningful act against the idea of control and superority celestia wants to impose to the people in Teyvat, and a great hint that mondstadt and Venti will probably be fundamental for the development of the story, whenever we fight back in oposition of celestia, probably influenced by other great rpg game of cult, Xenogears.

Venti definitely knows what is going on and I cannot wait until we get more lore about his relationship with istaroth. Venti 2nd story when hoyoverse.

The fact that venti always shows at the right moment and the right place makes me believe that he has either the skill to see the near future or to time travel, it would be possible due to the ties with the God of time. What if venti already has another gnosis one provided by the God of time. I have the feeling that later on we will know about other 7 arcons representing the other side of the board and making it a total of 14 arcons which would also be a nice coincidence with the 14 herscher in honkai

Everytime I see the "venti vs signora" scene I can't unsee the fact that his hair didn't glow, boy wasn't even trying. I love seeing Venti/Mondstatd theories. I saw some people in the comments saying that there are only 6 chess pieces but we have 7 archons, and I wanted to point out that maybe, mihoyo based the gnosis on the chinese version of chess, which has 7 pieces.

Always love a good video regarding Venti. Sure he may be a drunk and seems incompetent, but he does impart some wisdom and is a good friend to the Traveler. Plus the possibility that the Traveler met Venti before they fell into a 500 year sleep is interesting, and that he knows more than he lets on. Especially considering he gave more information than the other Archons (as he is the one who tells us about allogenes, and that he doesn't fully trust Celestia). Also, does anyone notice that Mondstadt has to deal with the Abyss Order and the Fatui constantly? Previous Grandmasters of the Knights of Favonious seem to always end up fighting the Abyss Order, going on long expeditions while doing so. So far, only one Grandmaster's campaign against the Abyss Order was told (during the Cataclysm) and then there's Varka's expedition. Seems a bit familiar when you read the lore.

I love Venti (he is genuinely one of my favorite lore characters) and I'm glad he and Mondstadt seem so closely tied to the main story. Even the non Khaenri'ahn characters from there seem pivotal to the archon quest (Diluc specifically, but others have had some dealings. Like Razor dealing with the herald and rift hounds; Alice was friends with Gold; and we don't know much about Varka yet, like where did he go with so many troops?) Speaking of Alice and the fact we know she and Klee will live for a long time, I wonder about her and where she's from/what she knows It's cool to learn about the Queen's role in chess and knowing that Venti has that role too, as a bard weaving the stories he sees into songs for history, but also knowing them, past, present, and future. Makes me wonder if we will get to learn more about Istaroth in his part 2 quest, since in the part 2 quests for Zhongli and Raiden we were able to at least somewhat discuss the cataclysm and the archons' involvement (or lack thereof; I wonder just how much Makoto was "involved" in anything that happened during the cataclysm, and what exactly was happening in general).

Chapter 0 is kinda weird to me, because it's explicitly chapter 0, not Chapter 1, so it makes me wonder a little bit, especially since the Travail trailer never said how many chapters to the Archon Quest there is, so it's left as a mystery. So what if the real the Mondstadt Chapter is much later on? Maybe Chapter 0 is just a sort of foreword and isn't really dedicated to Mondstadt at all, and is just Venti deciding "hey, come and help me bring Dvalin to his senses and forget about whatever bigger Mondstadt plot that could be going on in the background that could probably need you to explore much of Teyvat and beyond beforehand."

Out of all the characters, venti seems to really care about the traveler. Ei, zhongli, etc are amused with us but don’t seem to care like venti does.

This is purely speculation but I feel like lurking and pushing things along when needed is something istaroth & co does as a whole, such as in Ei's story quest. The abyss twin saying that they've always had enough time combined with Venti remembering them makes me think that one of them will intervene towards the endgame. After all, "the statues of the seven are silently awaiting the arrival of a noble soul, while thousand winds of time will soon unfold a new story"

Ah, I always love a good lore video. Especially about Venti because he has so many layers to his character. I love both his carefree drunkard bard side as well as his knows-more-than-he-lets-on wise Archon side. I can’t wait to see what’s coming next in the story regarding Celestia, the Archons and how the Abyss and Khaenri’ah tie to everything

Venti just doesn’t give any fucks lmao and that’s why I love him. He stays in his lane while helping others and protecting mondstadt but he doesn’t occupy himself with petty celestial drama or whatever bs was going on with raiden shitgun and inazuma lol.

In a scene after the boss fight with Dvalin, Venti imbues him with an anemo energy ball, whose insides are invisible, so… maybe Venti, being the trickster he is, really did forge the gnosis for Signora to take. He’s forged things before, so this seems more than probable to me, even more so, because he didn’t flatten Signora like a mere human is flattened by a god normally.

I think he's playing into a gamble by giving the Gnosis to Tsaritsa but in case it fails (which is most likely) that where the power of the Anemo Archon that he gave to Dvalin will come into play

TI think the gnosis are the trapped souls of the 7 sovereigns and the archons where able to tap in to there powers but knowing the power is corrupt and can control the mind bending it to do the will of the master the have no desire to keep them .. and venti never wanted his he never wanted to be the archon but there was no one left to take the seat .. funny thing is I have seen a story very similar to this one very very on a old PC engine game

You know how Venti knows every songs and stories in the past, present and future? Remember in Venti's line when meeting traveler? He said they "meet again". What if he's not talking about the missing twin? He just had to let the time flows naturally according to order, and unfold each moment at a perfect timing just like what he did in the Inazuman Festival. I remember that he stopped Albedo from painting another character as he said there might be something new that would make the next story clearer.

I've always been intrigued by him being represented by a Queen and also him not attempting to fight back at all for his Gnosis. I've delved deep into the lore to learn about him, learning more about Khaenri'ah and Istaroth and the phanes. I'm glad other people are looking into it too. He's always been a observer, only stepping in when his ppl ask for it.

If the queen will be given to anyone, give it a time and it will be perfect for the Kamisato siblings combined. SPOILERS FROM THE NEW HIDDEN QUEST IN CHASM (9 orbs): - - - - Dain said that the civilization there is older than Khaenriah, and we can also infer from stuff that it's along the same time with Enkanomiya. Then why the hell is Barbatos's name in the document there? I can't for the life of me place when that said document was actually written but nevertheless, why is there a need specifically for Barbatos' name to be mentioned there. Venti is getting sus and sus every passing day. Lol.

I like how you compared Venti's sacrifice to the game and I agree with you on the fact that when Signora stole his Gnosis he probably wanted that to happen and he already knew it would. But what actually makes me believe there is a bigger plan behind his actions is the fact that, as you said, the queen is the most important piece on the chessboard: nobody would sacrifice it like that, and it would never be the first piece to be sacrificed, unless the player knows what they're doing. I think that every piece is going to sacrifice itself while the pawns (the travelers) weaken the enemy, in order to create an opening on the board to let the pawns reach the end and achieve the power to become whatever they want. I can already see the traveler using the Gnosis to unlock their full potential. I can also see Venti not caring for his Gnosis at all as he is the Archon of Freedom. For freedom to exist, everyone's freedom must be limited to make sure it doesn't limit others'. Hence why Venti chose not to actively rule in his nation: ruling as a monarch would take away freedom from his people and it would make him similar to the Tyrant who used to rule over Mondstadt. To achieve freedom, his own freedom must be limited just as much as the people of Mondstadt's is. Losing his Gnosis would only make him much more similar to them and he would also lose his influence and his right to rule.

Has somebody referred to the fact that a mysterious letter in the chasm has mentioned Barbatos? The thing is, that letter is found in a room that is upright, while the rest of the buildings in that cave are upside down All the buildings seem to be older than Khaenriah

Another quick idea to consider for why Venti let's Signora take the gnosis so easily and doesn't attempt to try and get it back- maybe he let it get stolen on purpose- not for any master chess game but kind of as a surrender. Maybe Venti knew that as long as he had his gnosis. He, and therefore Mondstat, would be targeted. He's all about peace and freedom for his people. Maybe seeing Dvalvin corrupted and in so much pain made him realize more of his friends and people would be hurt if he clung to the gnosis so he just surrendered, while keeping away as many people out of it as possible. That's just my two cents tho.

This is why venti is my favorite archon. So many people say he's hiding a lot more than he seems to hide, and he's secretly evil. But I just can't bring myself to believe that, Venti is my favorite genshin character in the whole of teyvat and I appreciate his existence so much. I have always longed for something in my life, but I never knew what it was. It was as if, something was completely missing. And after years and years, I had to come to realize it was freedom. Though I don't have many issues such as family issues, or any other problems in school, freedom is something that I simply adore. Freedom, just escaping from responsibilities but of course doing the responsibilities whenever I feel like doing it. I also seem to like the wind, as it gives me a glimpse of nature and just makes me so fresh. Seeing venti, being the archon of wind and freedom, just makes me love him even more. Not to mention, his playful-like personality, is even better. I absolutely adore his personality, it's so cheerful and I love how he helps his people, or even other people. I'm hoping to look forward to his second story quest, funny enough, I once took a quiz and it said I kin venti. If that wasn't enough, I took a "which vision are you" or like which vision would you have in genshin impact, something like that. And it was anemo, THEN I DID "which archon are you" and it was venti 😭 Believe it or not, me and venti's personality is actually alike. And I mean REALLY alike. I love helping people, as much as I can, while I still have so many hidden things about me that I have yet to reveal to anyone, and I mean I have revealed this to no one. Not even my family members, friends, or anyone. Only I know them, but I always hint at them. It's fun hinting. Heck, I even relate to Venti's tragic backstory. Anyways, venti is basically the most perfect genshin impact character for me. But, the only thing that I dislike is his alcohol addiction, since I'm a muslim. If venti didn't drink or anything like that, then maybe. He really would be perfect. just how many times have i wished for him to actually come to real life..? knowing well that i'm in reality and nothing like this exists. maybe, but that's my only wish. as maybe, just maybe, venti's the only person who can bring me true happiness and make me feel joy.

out of all the archons, Venti is interesting when it comes to lore along with the Tsaritsa, it is them who might help the traveler know about everything that happened. Mihoyo is going hard with the lore, i thank them for that.

I wouldn't be surprised if Zhongli and Venti both coordinated the loss of their Gnosis, whether with Tsaritsa or as a ploy around her.

As bitter as I am that I dont have Venti, I really love him. His story is still shrouded in shadow and I feel there would be something unraveled when the story takes us to Snheznhaya [i dont know the right spelling for that place!] to meet the Tsaritsa. I'm looking forward to it. :D

I think Venti being able to thwart the Traveler from Celestia from having a positive connotation to a negative one successfully is because at that point, the Traveler is like a sponge. They are in a new world and this new world works differently. Much like how when we are born, as babies, our brains retain everything like a sponge because this is all new to them, the Traveler had no choice to really challenge Venti on the information because they had no option to begin with. The Traveler has to take Venti for his word and I guess subconsciously, they see Venti as reliable for that reason. At least that's how I would be like if I was in the Traveler's shoes. Just a thought.

First time we saw his he kinda just poofed out via idk wind or something? So when his vision was taken it's possible he could've just goodbye-d outta the situation, and maybe take traveler with him too.

I will always admire Venti's style of "goberning" his people compared to the other archons. Instead of defending the people directly every time and making them dependent of a god, he help only when needed and founded a region that could defend itself without counting on a god. When I finished the Liyue quest I found very funny that the Qixing was learning to do exactly that as Zhongli decided to retire. Venti did the same centuries ago, but he is a drunk bard and Zhongli is a genius for all I see online. And his policy of no fighting is amazing, he has avoided so many disasters just by not wanting to fight intead of risking his people. He might not have thrown stone spears around but his power and influence with his words are arguably more powerful that Raiden's or Zhongli's powers if you ask me. Very looking forward for Hoyoverse to unravel more things about him.

I really want his next story quest to be more like ei n zhonglis 2nd story quest. ( + the epic cutscene, like the one with the glass memories in eis ) not just some dude named Stanley. This brings me to my thought that the final archon quest will be ventis. He was the first archon we met and he will be the last. And yk how his statue says " gateway to celestia ", yea, it's not the statue, it's venti. It's to detour ppl. I've noticed how venti specifically ties to almost all lore in the game somehow. I'm just quite nervous mihoyo won't touch on any of this because I'm quite adamant on all of these theories being true. But mihoyo being mihoyo will leave plot holes. I've known for such a long time the importance of venti and his power. I'm really hoping we see him use his full power ( I also wouldn't mind a barbatos skin hehehe ) I loved watching this video though because EVERY SINGLE THING YOU SAID! I have been saying and now I don't feel stupid. I used to think it was just me forcing myself into making things up just because of my bias towards venti. But now I know ITS LIKE 99.9% TRUE! I think that venti knows what is going on. I don't have any solid theory or proof to back it up, but take a look at the 2 other archons we know. They don't seem to really care for losing their gnosis, not just only Venti. It gives me a feeling that a storm is brewing, and the archons, atleast those that we have interacted with, is not there to stop it. Rather, they are just waiting to see the spectacle. Venti didn't show much restraint or concerns when her gnosis was taken; Zhongli willingly traded it off for his people's future, knowing that the power of a gnosis may even be the pivoting point of a sky rending destruction that will not leave Liyue unharmed; Ei easily disregards her gnosis, showing that it is merely a tool for her to reach her goal of eternity, and when that goal does not require the gnosis, she simply gives it away to yae for safe-keeping, as if it doesn't matter at all. The archons are playing the long game, a game against celestia. Perhaps celestia wronged them in some way, or they harbor distaste is how celestia handles things(the nail), or they believe a change of ruling is well in order, or they are just there to witness a great spectacle. Muffled thunder rumbles behind the constant roar of the midnight rain, one might be ignorant enough not to believe that something isn't lurking out there.....

Signora might be a fatui harbinger, but venti is still a god. I find it very hard to believe that signora can just come out of nowhere and steal venti’s gnosis, meanwhile all venti can do is pull a few gusts of wind and some comebacks. Coming from the god who once sliced mountains in half, there is 100% some planning behind this. Venti definitely knows a lot more than he puts on. He also seems to know how everything will happen, why it will happen, and when. But he also treats everything like it’s no big deal. The only type of person who can achieve this personality is someone who doesn’t fear the unknown, and how do you possibly not fear the unknown without also knowing everything there IS to know. Venti is tied with years of wisdom, and perhaps many many years beyond his own time after being closely tied with the literal god of time, Istaroth. This could be a very good reason as to why he knows nearly everything. He also never explicitly explains the answer, he only gives hints as if he’s been guiding us to something greater this whole time, and as if he’s observing our own reactions to the issue like he’s testing us or something. Perhaps he might be testing us for something far greater than we could imagine. With the new addition of the archon of wisdom, Nahida, it’s also very suspicious that she doesn’t say much about other archons and their own history, being a god who can look into the past of the world. Unlike the voice lines of the other archons, Nahida doesn’t speak about each currently available archon. Instead she speaks of them as a whole, as “The Seven”. But she never even really speaks about them then either, she only speaks about hopscotch and shy intimidation. However, Nahida’s version of how a god’s power is derived is different from Venti’s. It’s hard to choose which one to believe when you don’t know much about either. Nahida is just a reincarnation of the previous dendro archon, and when she wipes the world’s memory of Rukkhedevatta, the other archon’s voice lines about Buer (God of Wisdom) don’t explicitly explain whether they are talking about the Greater or Lessor lord. This could also mean that the greater lord might have known things similar to venti, and that’s why they also chose to surrender. Nahida is very well rooted with the memory bank of the entirety of Teyvat, but Venti is also rooted with a god who knows all about time. So when they both give different explanations about a God’s power, it seems very suspicious, and it makes you wonder which you should believe. Nahida could very well be correct. I remember someone (it could’ve been Venti himself) once said that Venti knows every song; past present and future. I believe this furthers the theory that Venti is just observing what happens as he knows what will happen. He makes songs from the stories of the world, so if he knows the songs of the future: he knows what happens in the future.

The statue in Inazuma city isn't actually Ei, and is in fact the god of time. We learn about the connection between eyes of the storm and the god of time, and the necklace on the statue very much resembles an eye of the storm. The statue is referred to as "the statue of the omnipresent god," which makes sense because time is omnipresent 🙃.

Here's the question I have: There are seven archons, one for each element. There are six types of chess pieces. Rook (or castle), Knight, Bishop, Queen, King, and Pawn. Cross off Queen for Barbatos. Cross off Rook for Morax. I believe Raiden's gnosis is shaped like the King. That leaves four regions (Sumeru, Fontaine, Natlan, Snezhnaya) with three chess pieces (Knight, Bishop, Pawn). What happens with the leftover? Honestly, probably the Tsaritsa, and maybe something happened to her gnosis, but if we follow the pattern, that still wouldn't explain what it was before something happened to it, yknow? Also, I think it would be really cool if the Dendro Archon was being manipulated or smth (due to their "young" age), and had the pawn gnosis. However, in chess, if a pawn crosses the board completely onto the other side, it can change into any other piece, usually a queen. I'll leave off with that ig.
