To be clear, Isma'ilism is significantly different in certain aspects from more mainstream Shia Islam (twelver). The twelver Shia Islam is in many ways much closer to sunni Islam, with ashura and such things added. The way of thinking is pretty similar to sunni Islam.

He is 100% right i was also ismaili but i had doubt when i was kid but at the time when i got mature and studied Hadis of hazram mohammad and Quran than realized no one can be worshiped except Allah and Hazrat Mohammad is the last prophet and Quran is the last Book of Allah But Than his Iman was not as strong to hold him as muslim but journey to being sunni was okay but after that he was Gumrah 👍🏻

Sameer, there are many Sunnis who don't follow the complete sunna of the prophet pbuh,and I reject the theory of judging the companions of the prophet pbuh, how the 12wers do if there is a small discrepancies let Allah be the judge, not the ummah or divide them but I follow the Ahlulbayt who reminded us about the real sunna.

It seems like you did not do comprehensive research (or discuss with knowledgeable people) for all your questions... You inquired your father (who you believe have knowledge of perfect knowledge of Ismailism which may not be true), think yourself, referred to Quran (without proper guidance). Unfortunately, that seems the reason behind your decision. Please continue your research and God will definitely guide you to the right path....P.S. : I am a Ismaili and you should do a comprehensive research on ismailism (just an advice).

And we followed Prophet Muhammad's (SAS) command to follow Ali Ibn Ali Talib, being one of the least power-hungry people in the history of humanity I can see that Ali would of been the right choice. The title Aga Khan was given by Fateh Ali Shah Qajar of the Qajar Dynasty to the Imam, a title through heritage is being carried on since today. Balance your life, we can read the Quran and look at Sunnahs.

Dear all. I was born a ismaili and much of what you and others say is true but what should I do. My parents are ismailis and I live in a ismaili society. How can I save myself as I want to practise islam and what should I do. Should I leave ismailis and how and then what? By moving from Ismailism to Sunnism, he is basically moved from one sect to another sect. As for as Koran is concerned it categorically says Allah rejects all sect. So my point of view is that he should have moved from Ismailism to Islam to make himself the perfect believer.

Im Ismaili and love being one, it is a huge blessing, never would change. Ismailis who understand what they have like me are very grateful for the guidance we have from our Imam. If you do not get it you just do not, it is kinda of like reading Rumi, it is a religion of spiritual search for the truth and has hardly any rules. The biggest rules are esoteric like purify self and know who you are.

Aga Khan is not holy But he does a lot of good work ... The contradiction of religioulsly venerating a man who constantly preaches about education , tolerance, etc , is so baffling to me ... I have never been a muslim , but i have been fascinated with Ismailis... (yeah, I do admit that it started because of assassins creed ... )

Quran says: Atiullah, wa atiurrasool, wa olul amar minkum. Obey Allah, and Muhammad, and the Commanders of faith. According to this aya, it's obligatory for us to obey olul amar who is the imam of the time and more accessible to us physically in this world. Quran says, Mun utio rasool ataallah. Those who obey Muhammad surely they obey Allah. it is very clear that the obedience of the prophet refers to Allah's obedience. Thus the obedience of olul amar refers to the obedience of prophet according to this aya. Now the question is who should be the olul amar. Quran says clearly. Inama uridullah liuzhiba unna kum rijsil ahlul baiti utahirukum tathira. God has intention to keep every soft of rijis (napaki) physically, spiritually, and intellectually away from the ahlibaite rasool and keep them purged. In the light of this verse. Ahlulbait rasool are the most righteous among all. So we say that olul amar should be from among them so that we will not go astray. Quran says. Youma nadoo kulah unasin be imammihim. on the day of judgement, we will call every group of people by the means of their imam of the time. So there are 73 sects in Islam. Who is the imam of the time through whome we will be called by Allah? Allah has given the full command to the imam to guide the humans to the right path by remaining present among them physically all times. Therefore he is the commander of the faith. Faqat all Ibrahimal kitaba wal hikmata wa ataina hum mulkan azeema. Allah has given the descendants of Ibrahim book and wisdom and a vast (spiritual) kingdom. Allah has given these things to the family of the prophet too. Qad jaakum nurumminallahe wa kitabummubeen. Quran and Spiritual light. The light should be in a Chirag. and the charag is the personality of the prophet and imam.

Ismailism seems more like a closed cultural group than a religion.

The first article of preamble of Ismaili constitution given by Aga Khan. I quote, " The Shia Imami Ismaili Muslims affirm Shahadah,' La ilaha illallah Muhammadur Rasulullah,' the Tawheed there in and that the Holy Prophet Muhammad PBUH is the last and final Prophet of Allah. Islam, as revealed in the Holy Quran, is the final message of Allah to mankind, and is universal and eternal. The Holy Prophet PBUH through the divine revelation from Allah prescribed rules governing spiritual and temporal matters." This is what followers of Aga Khan believe. Ismailis are not A CULT, they are a SHIA SECT exists from time of Imam Jafar Sadiq.

If there were not Ismaili view of Islam and Ismaili Imams, I would definitely be an Atheist.
