Garraway Prox yea here in Australia it’s much of a muchness .... a lot of Nordic people live here and I guess we’ve always taken shoes off in their places. My parents prefer shoes off even tho they have parquetry flooring. In my house I don’t care about shoes - we live in the bush and have more dirt than lawn around the house ... and we have dogs and cats and kids always in and out in and out , so if you took your shoes off your feet are likely to get dirty because I only sweep once or twice a day, I don’t walk around with the broom in my back pocket lol 😂 Having said that - I would love to live in a house where shoes have to be taken off inside 🤷🏼‍♀️ nothing worse than walking barefoot on a tiled floor that has sand or something on it UGH!!!!

In Finland we don´t wear shoes inside, unless you have inside slippers which are never worn outside.

Americans don't take off their shoes inside the house because they used to spit on the floor...

I have cousins in Sweden, no matter how many times I have tried to ask them about this, they refuse to speak about this yet they act the same.

We have the exact same dialogue in Greece too, when someone comes unannounced haha. It always amazes me how many things we think are local behaviors, yet they are so universal.

If u watch all of mika hakkinen or kimi raikkonen interviews their answers is pretty uniq and logical in some way. I wish i could explain, but not really but they are a very rational thinking people, more than swedes and danes and norwegians.

Other Nordics call Finns "the weird ones."
