One of the last steps after completing a painting is to varnish! However, before doing so, it might be worth applying an Isolation coat or Isolation layer to your painting.
In this video I wanted to share a tutorial of what an Isolation coat is, why it is used, and how to apply it. If you ever want to remove a varnish layer, it is highly recommended to apply an Isolation coat as it is a protective layer physically separating the varnish from the paint layer. And remember, Isolation coats are only for acrylic paintings, not to be used on oils or watercolors.
Materials used:
- Gallery wrapped stretched canvas
- Golden Isolation Coat Medium
- Synthetic flat brush
