As far as I know the Italian Civil War doesn't fire because the Balance of Power mechanic doesn't activate until *after* the war in Ethiopia finishes.

For the next megacampaign you should do a combination of ruler/country roulette and the mega campaign. That way you can have an impact on every part of the world.

Challenge: Ukraine. Play Romania and release yourself as Ukraine. Now all you need to do is get all Ukraines cores and claims to complete the challenge. (If you want to make it more difficult then don't join any faction)

Wacky Challenge Idea: HOI4 A-Z for Weapons. Essentially the challenge would be that you could only use a unit if it begins with the letter that you are on. So if you were on A for instance you could use artillery, anti-tank, etc. On the letters that don't have anything associated with them, you would be able to skip.

I got one strat i do, as the USSR. First declaur war an turkey(and romania) steal their fleets, justify on manchuko. You cant get naval supremacy at first, so you can just lay 1k sea mines and that should get you japan. (You should build minelaying subs from the start btw)

Op strat that works: As usa when the panay incident hits choose the war option, then with a few troops take iwo jima then with all your troops land in japan and cap them. Then later you can join the allies and kill the axis

It would be very impressive if you invaded the USSR as the United States starting with a naval invasion from Alaska and go through Siberia with Heavy/Super Heavy tanks only, and that's it, no airforce and no other types of army units.

Ok this is a fun one I've used for communist Yugoslavia that is actually really good. First justify on hungry and annex them. They join the axis early so it's important to rush them. Then rush the ability to launch coups in other countries and launch them as soon as possible. Then, instead of inviting them to your faction like the focus tree wants you to, justify and annex them. The UK will not guarantee them bc they are communist. Even more interesting, all existing guarantees get deleted when the nation has a civil war. Also don't bother w Albania it will slow you down too much. By doing this, you can fully annex Hungry, Romania, Greece, Bulgaria, and Turkey by like 1939/1940 without a world war. You can even keep basarabia by joining the Comintern

Try playing Norway and beating Germany with only cavalry divisions. The divisions would have only cavalry and whatever support companies you want, engineers, anti-air, even support artillery if you want, but they have to be cavalry.

My fav strategy as Germany is start justifying on France as soon as you have the pp. Put enough factories on light tanks to get 5 small divisions ready (starting template basically) then let them have southern germany and slice your tanks through their lines avoiding maginot and trap all their units in germany then sweep through the maginot to get yourself a huge fleet. UK wont join as its too early. Or early war poland then soviets straight away. Hold the river line in poland and use tanks to trap soviet divisions against the sea or against czechoslovakia. Bleed them enough and its a cakewalk

You want to go for a USA early game victory over the Soviet Union, by joining the Chinese United Front to get a W over Japan to give you the ability to land a major conscript land force through Siberia by using Korea as a landing base. Containment starts early.
