My biggest question about this surprise attack is how in the world it was so effective to begin with? I thought Israel had some of the best counter intelligence and border protection in the world. Was the iron dome overwhelmed? How did Hamas infiltrate the border walls so easily? How did they fly over in paragliders so easily? This just seems very uncharacteristic of Israel's defense. I understand it was a major holiday, but wouldn't they assume that this would be a prime time for Hamas to make an attack and therefore be ready for one?

@theslowevo9303 You simply can not look at this incident in isolation. Conviently, he forgot to mention the 200+ people killed prior to this heinous attack. Tension has been building for months. But historically, Adam is way off. So much has been written on the subject, and many Jewish authors and academics have provided enough balanced insights. But Adam has no words in support of Palestinian freedom; to oppose the years of illegal occupation (the longest occupation in the world) and blockades despite numerous UN resolutions; to oppose illegal Jewish settlements on Palestinian land; to speak out against extremist right wing corrupt politicians and media for their refusal to value Palestinian lives as being equal in value to that of. Adam can not fathom the reactions and frustration of an occupied people, hence his emotional outburst.

@@FBUKCalling it an occupation is arguable. Who owns the land? The only right Palestinian Arabs had to the land was conquering it from East Roman empire. And the only right the east roman empire had to the land was conquering it from the kosher nation of Judea. But the British conquered the land from the Palestinian Arabs. So the only reason Palestinian Arabs would have rights to the land, by virtue of conquest, actually suggests that only the British had right to the land of Palestine. The British owned the land and gave it to the kosher diaspora. The kosher tried to live among the Palestinian Arabs but the arabs kept shanking the kosher people. So to prevent anymore shankings, Israel broke the two groups up. Can't complain about separation when the so-called oppressed want nothing more than to shank anyone who practices another religion. The wrongs the kosher have done to the Palestinian Arabs (other than just existing next to them), have mostly just been measures to prevent more bloodshed on both sides. In contrast, the wrongs the Palestinian Arabs do the kosher people, they do out of anger and revenge.

Israel's military and intelligence services aren't all that they're cranked up to be. A similar intelligence failure happened during the build up to the 1973 war between Israel and Egypt and Syria. Israel's intelligence services saw all the signs but there concerns were dismissed. It is most likely something similar happened again. Netanyahu is the new Golda Meir. If Israel's goal was to wipe out "Palestina" they're attacks would not be limited to the Gaza Strip. Hamas is not controlled by the CIA or their ally and funder, Iran.

I am a Palestinian - Christian - Born and raised in the United Arab Emirates, with Canadian Citizenship and western educated. In reality this has been an Israeli occupation of Palestinian land since the 1950s, and Palestinians being kicked out of their homes and off their land in the West Bank. Then in the Gaza strip, Palestinians being held in an open-air prison with limited electricity, water, and food, while constantly being bombed by the Israeli Defence Force. Hamas (Palestinian-aligned terrorist group) is basically the only fighting force that the Palestinians have, and this attack is more blowback from decades of Israeli apartheid and violent occupation of Palestinian Territories. This is all history you can research, but always lookout and beware of the pro-Israeli propaganda that proliferates American news media.

I do not support anyone who advocate violence that affects innocent men, women and children. If people are fighting for independence, that is their right. Israel occupied Palestine, took their land without any right. Several attempts have been made to take it back. As an Albanian person, I can understand the viewpoint of the Palestinian side. We also lost our country, and we regained it from Serbia, I hope it stays that way. The difference now is, with this massive attack on Israel made by Hamas, Palestine want the worlds support. I can promise you one thing, if Hamas was a legitimate army, with a rightful goal in mind, the world would have had a different opinion about Palestine and Hamas. Problem here is, how are you expected to gain support from the masses, when there is stonecold solid proof of Hamas soldiers slaughtering innocent Israelis, kidnapping women and children, and executing them inside of Gaza? I am not saying that Israel is doing any better than Hamas, I am saying right now, both sides are so extremely bad. Hamas is killing civilians, Israel is killing civilians. If both sides focused on military objectives, it would have been different, but they are not. This whole conflict is so deeply infected, that is why most people do not know how to think or feel about this, especially people from the west who has more incommon with Israel than Palestine. When you take the body of a dead woman, undress her, parade her through the streets while yelling Allahu Akbar (I don't know if this video is fake or propaganda, but I assume it's real after all the sources around it), it's gonna create anger and frustration from the west. People will not show sympathy toward the Palestinians if incidents like these occur. What I want to say is, I support the Palestinians right to fight for what is theirs, 100%. But I do not support the unnecessary killing of women and children. Even if Israel is doing it, and has been doing it for years, this is not the way to go. I pray for the Palestinian people, and the Israel people. Military on Military conflict is tolerable, but when you actively include the civilian population, even if they are on your enemy's side, you will gain no favor, either with God or the worlds' politicians.

I think it is safe to say that every time you hear of XXX number of "Palestinians" killed, 80-90% of militants. And almost always if a civilian is killed it is because they did a old Ukraine defense force trick and put rockets in Schools, hospitals, mosque, markets to insure that any strike on that target would yield civilian deaths. Secondly, the massacres committed by Israel are not equivalent at all to what Palestinians did. The number of Palestinians who were displaced from their land and were exiled outside Palestine in 1948 is estimated at one million. Actually the situation is much simpler. Gaza has been under military siege for over 2 decades with limited water, electricity, supplies. It’s literally an open prison air prison. So it’s kind of a prison break. Israel has been practicing apartheid on the Palestinian people, with daily humiliation, killing for 75+ years now who oh by the way are the actual owners of the land. So what’s happening was inevitable and will continue to happen until the world actually recognize Palestinians lives same as other human life and apply international law.
