Tal Mitnick says this is because, in his opinion, the war in Gaza is not the way to achieve peace with Palestinians.

Conscientious objectors go back a long time, particularly during world war 1. Mostly related to their religious beliefs regarding not hurting another human being. Christains for example, thats true Christians follow Jesus' words that they are only Jesus' followers if they have "love among themselves." Also "love your neighbours" (that includes your enemies). There are only small group of true Christian that practices what they preach.

Conscientious objector is a personal choice but unfortunately there are none on the other side. Hamas-Isis and the 'Palestinians' who put Hamas in power only believe in a violent holy war. In any case, he can still serve in other capacity that does not require any handling of a firearm - Medic, Fire-fighter, mechanic, even a desk job of some sort.

Shani Louk was a peace activist. She refused to fight for IDF, the army of Israel. Her second citizenship is German. But Hamas killed her too. The videos of Hamas showed what the Palestinians did with her. 40 innocent Asian workers and care givers from Thailand, Phillipines, Nepal, ... were killed by Hamas when the terrorists attacked Israel last year. Even when people doesn't fight against the terrorists, it doesn't mean, that the terrorists would not kill them.
