This is a great interview. It's a joy to see Simone and Erin standing up to speak truth. I know doing the right thing as you have is lonely and never easy, but know there are many in this world who stand with you in our united defence of the Palestinian people and for constructively and diligently working towards ending this apartheid Zionism. Germany’s economy is in dire straits given the Ukraine war & other large factors. I think that has something to do with why they continue to sell weapons to Israel. No question that their history of perpetrating the holocaust has most to do with that. But continuing to give weapons to the state that is on trial for genocide, is an illogical way to repent for that history.

I'm an American of Irish decent. My ancestors suffered persecution in the early years of Irish immigrations to America. Because of what my ancestors suffered, I understand how it must feel to be hated because of a difference in race, religion and nationality. For these same reasons there are now many Americans who are empathetic concerning what the Palestinian people are going through and are welcoming them.

I hope more Jewish people see that support for Palestine is not anti-semitism but a desire to free Palestinians from oppression. I applaud these young filmmakers and hope their film fosters greater understanding and empathy for the Palestinian cause. Anti-Zionism is not anti-semitism. Israel needs to stop playing the victim when it is the oppressor. Israel needs to stop equating anti-semitism with anyone who criticizes its actions when they are the bad actors giving Judaism a bad name.

As much as Breaking The Silence has done good work, it was motivated by the need for IOF soldiers to confess their sins and clear their consciences. Fine. But let's not forget, that NONE of these ex soldiers disobeyed any orders to humiliate and degrade the occupied Palestinians AT THE TIME.
