Fantastic video of Udon village life, i enjoyed every minute of it. I loved the Grandmother singing, she was really good. My girlfriend and her sisters have a rice farm in a village not too far from Baan Wang Thong. You painted an authentic picture especially the difficult relationship your friend had with her grandfather since he decided to become a Monk. i can absolutely relate to how she felt about it and why she was so upset about effectively "losing" her grandfather.

My wife is from a village about 20 minutes south of here.
Ok I’m crying after she visits her grandfather… I am from an isaan province also, ubon ratchanthani, but lived in the USA my whole life. Loved this video so much.

What a great video. You are a very lucky man, I do not know of too many NON-boyfriends/husbands that get to meet the elders of the village. I absolutely love Issan, and more specifically Sakon Nakhon. Thanks for documenting this...I cannot wait to go back.

Mate this must be the best rural Thailand video I've watched.....your friend her English is fantastic, was this her village?
@connorhamilton58433 жыл бұрын
Thanks! Yeah, she speaks fluently. She hasn't lived in the village for a very long time but a lot of her family is from this village.

Conner, sorry to see you only posted one video. You have a good sense of how to use the camera. I myself really miss the Issan region having been there many times. Hope you have had the chance to visit the Issan region again.

I love hearing all these stories from people! Yes, I was so surprised! The Isan language is so much faster and different from the Thai language I'm used to.
