Constant heavy rain, stong winds, brutal weather, a leaking tent, a faulty zip, no gadgets to blow up the inner tent, failed tarp setup and assaulted by a stag. An absolute disaster of a wild camping trip fs.

Where do you even start with this one? I got atttacked by a stag, finally got my tent setup up the brutal weather, the tent didn't come with a pump so I couldn't capitalise on the insulated inner, when the heavy rain appeared the tent started leaking at MULTIPLE points, with the strong wind the poles were bending like Beckham but fair play, handled them like an absolute unit, and the zip was stuck and decided to rip off. I like the tent, my last Crua tent was EXCELLENT in these conditions, but this one needs some seam sealing. I will fix the tent and give it another chance. Crua are generally very reliable, this tent is the odd fault that makes it through the manufacturing process. Anyway... we couldn't get the tarp up so sat outside in the rain with a fire we couldn't feel because of the wind. On top of that background problems meant I had to bail. Thank the Lord because I was not in the mood lol.

Cannae beat being tucked up in your tent in the pishing rain. When I used to go camping in Glen Orchy the only radio station you could find was Radio Scotland. 14 hours of fiddles, bagpipes and some poor bastard singing in Gaelic about how he lost his crofter missus to a heavy machine gun ambush or something. It's nice that the manufacturer has included the hook at the water ingress point, maybe it's for hanging some kind of container to collect all the rainwater 😂

@MontyOutdoors no problem, I thinknits his latest video he's out with his son. His vintage tent is leaky so jumps in the crua with his son and has to put loads of tape on near where the lantern point is. Shame cos they look good tents ⛺️

Seen the Crua tent on another channel bit back, the insulated one. That ones insulation tied up to the inner if I remember. Great film,good to see Gaz and yer pal along for the trip. Glen etive is a special place for sure. 👍🏼

Is the wet hook caused by burning the heater? Warm water vapour rising and condensing on the cold surface?

Nah man. The tent was very drafty with lots of ventilation. We barely felt any heat from the heater.

shite quality that, having multiple failures. For that money id have expected it to have been bob on, and have the equipment to blow the inner part up supplied too. Id have bailed out too, the thing taking in water in areas and stuff starting to fail. It will be worth having a chat with Crua, as that is a concern and a quality issue they may not be aware of. Great video though monty lad, you cannot beat them all though buddy.

I had a conversation with Crua... I've had this tent before with zero issues. I think it's one of the random ones of poor quality and no representative of the company as a whole. I'm gonna fix it myself and retest in winter.

monty, was it an issue of needing seam sealed? ie not seam sealed at all or just crap job. noted on zip failing not good from a premium tent when you consider for 1k you could get a hilli or quasar

Probably. But my other Crua didn't have this issue. Disappointed with the tent, but the poles are brilliant. Let's get a camp mate.

that buck tried having ago lol just sold my Vango Mirage Pro 200 and the Gear Store attachment, the tent did me well for a couple of season, just purchased myself a Lone Rider Adv tent, can't wait to try it out. Hard to believe for such a good make tent it failed big time on you, hazard a guess, the bonding wasn't done right and just fell apart, my new Lone Rider tent has a HH of 10,000 so should hold up to any type of rain fall

HH doesn’t really make a difference it’s the physical design of the tent that’s important. Hilleberg black label for me, I like to know my equipment isn’t going to fail putting my life at risk.
