I agree with you entirely. AI first became a red flag for me once I started seeing "AI covers" of characters and non-singer celebrities singing song covers. Like I'm sure someone made it just to be funny or entertaining, but I can't help but think about the fact that if AI is capable of replicating any given person's voice, someone with bad intentions could easily use that against someone... if we want this kind of technology to exist we need to be thinking about how it can affect people and what should and shouldn't be so easily accessible to the public.

yeah a common scam now isd people will find a recording of your voice train an ai model on it and then send a message to your parents in your voice saying"im in trouble i need money" or stuff like that

Tried to reply to you, and swapped my comments. Ugh. Fixed! The good thing about all this AI everywhere is that they're developing ways to detect it. It's sad they need to, but people are doing some impressive things, like allowing historical figures voices to be heard, even if they've been dead for 100 years.... I think it's better to let the general public play around with it, the whole program, so the average person has a better grasp on its abilities, and a better chance of picking out AI scammers. The net gain is positive, imo. Though the obviously AI ads on KZfaq are rapidly becoming unbearable.

Putting “dead internet theory” to the side AI was originally imagined as “we will have cool AI friends like Megaman.exe or Bender or Astro Boy” But the reality is turning into people trying to use AI to REPLACE people just because AI is cheaper and quicker I’m sure most of these companies dream about society being divided into two classes, business owners who have only AI employees, thus they spend nothing, and the spending class who gives all their money to the company, thus infinite growth (without realising the basic premise that people need to EARN money that they can SPEND and if people can’t SPEND money then the companies will FAIL because despite owning ALL the money they are getting ZERO profit because NO ONE can BUY ANYTHING)

He passed the 24 hour mark a LONG time ago, it'd probably be at 35 or 40 by now, but youtube doesn't allow videos longer than 12 hours anymore, which is why he cant make another EX binge. I remember him talking about it on his tumblr a few years back, when he passed the 24 hour mark he immediately made the compilation, but was stopped by youtube qhen he tried to upload it

Ironically the scary l last airbender movie is what convinced me to watch the cartoon. I'd written it off as wannabe anime when I saw random bits of episodes on Nickelodeon.... I don't think I could rewatch the movie at this point. The live action One Peace is my new show I can watch over and over again when there's nothing else to watch.... But I couldn't get into the anime... Luffy comes across way more mean spirited in the anime.

Ok things that I could think of: Tamogachi was a thing but also a anxiety attack waiting to happen, Bop it! was a pain and the sound is forever ingrained into my mind. Moon shoes was an odd trend. Skip it was definitely an accident waiting to happen. Magic mitt was fun. The Spice Girls were not just a pop girl group they were also a collection of dolls - why these exist is beyond me but ok.

Like, society is great, I'm sure, but I can't really pay attention because at any given time, I have roughly: 12 fandom AUs 6 world building ideas 40 assorted OCs 3 video game / mod ideas And a PARTRIDGE in a bloody PEAR TREE Shooting around my brain, CONSTANTLY, like a 64-v-64 game of 4-dimensional Rocket League with three balls, six nets, and a frigging kangaroo. And I have ZERO ability to actually CREATE any of this, by the way. Because i have the physique of a lo mein noodle, and my arms would fall off if I tried to type that much. (I'd need about six large books, an art album, and a lecture tour to explain all this crap, HELP ME MY BRAIN NO SWICH OFF)

Because surely I should be getting results on Google Images of rhesus monkeys eating Reese’s Puffs when I look up “rhesus puffs,” but I either get the monkey or the cereal. That’s just one example.

Without revealing my actual age I can tell you that we were able to rewind music with a pencil and a movie with a thick marker. You allso had to pay a fine if you rented a movie and returned it without rewindin it all the way to the beginning. And the music could allso break and could be temporarily patched up with a piece of carefully tailored and tweezerd on tape. If the movie broke, there was no going back.
