The Rules for this Campaign are:
- Dead is dead. When I die, the campaign ends.
- Full realism settings. Only the external camera is allowed for filming purposes
- Manual Targeting
- No recognition manual for random merchant ships
- Attempt to abide by the historical orders in regards to the London Naval Treaty, Operating Procedures and Restrictions

It was known that French dockworkers whether as part of organised resistance or just acting individually would attempt to, and successfully sabotage U-boats and their equipment, U-505 found itself the butt of jokes over how frequently it had to return to port due to acts of sabotage. Ammunition can just fail, especially if it's not made to a high standard or has been stored and handled neglectfully or abusively, but I imagine it's not impossible to deliberately crush the propellant grains to increase their surface area such that they produce dangerously high chamber pressures by tumbling them for extended periods of time, though whether one could slip a problem shell out of and then into a crate unnoticed is another matter

Thank you for another immersive episode. I so look forward to these. They're like weekly television episodes with detailed audio commentary, which is the only way I can enjoy such media. It's nice to see in this episode the humanity shown in war sometimes. We're all human and cannot help but be affected by the suffering of others. It always reminds me of that moving scene in Das Boot where the young master-sight officer broke down and wept at seeing the men in the burning oil from the sunken tanker.

Enjoying this series and the new graviteam tactics one as well. 2 questions for you: 1- any update on your flight sim series? 2- ever think about doing a panzer/tank crew series? Love to see a career in a tank.

Sorry for the late response. 1. Still planned, but on hold until I finish the graviteam tactics campaign, and maybe the Arma 3 APEX campaign after that. 2. I will play another Steel Fury Campaign at some point

40:23 You know, with the ever-growing conscience our good Kaleun is developing, I'd say he needs to get in a Type IX and get deployed to the 'frontier' as soon as possible, since I'm not sure he can survive the brutal, merciless days that await him in European waters in the future if he hangs around 😅😬🥲 BTW, Tonci, if you see this, I want you to know: I would have done EXACTLY the same thing 🙃

Mannschaftsmanagement: Man kann die Namen der Abteilungen doppelklicken, klicken und rechtsklicken. Doppelklick: Die Abteilung wird (soweit möglich) arbeitsfähig besetzt. Klick: Markiert die Zielabteilung für Personal, anschließender Rechtsklick: zieht das Personal dafür aus der Abteilung ab. Dieses Vorgehen spart eine Menge manuelle Verschieberei. Ich gehe zurück zu Episode 23, weiterhin gute Jagd!

It’s just the nature of war at sea I suppose :). It gets dark at night, nothing can be done about it. In a strange way the lack of perfect external visibility is fitting for submarine warfare, when instruments are your main source of interaction with the outside world. Still very much enjoyed it and the rest of the series too. Keep making these great videos!

Exploding deck guns? Is that historical? I've read a lot of books on the Battle of the Atlantic and none mentioned any problems with deck guns. Love the capsizing ship. This OneAlex edition rocks!

It happened though it wasn't a very common issue. Most commonly it was because of a stoppage in the barrel. At least one boat had it where they forgot to remove the barrel plug thus severly injuring the crew manning the gun. A more common issue with the deck gun was instead having it rust up and thus become unusuable on longer patrols.

When you sink a boat could you possibly do a depth check I find it interesting to know how deep the ship will sink

I apologize if you addressed it and I missed it, but I was wondering, with so many torpedoes remaining, why you didn't elect to refuel from one of the tankers in a neutral port?

He was on patrol for one and a half months already... Crew morale would be reasonably low at this point, especially with such "low" success. Plus iirc the boat was in rather questionable shape from the previous patrols(material exhaustion, ect) he is doing a role play career after all and IRL this would very well be a factor and maintainence would have to be done more regular on a boat to keep it operational.

Barrels can really be damaged in this game/mod or is it just a message for fluff? Could you in future put a disclaimer if game supports such things ( like food suuply... )? Im not much familiar with it but I like to watch your videos and im asking myself if that game is really that complicated or its just a stuff for immersion?

barrels don't explode in the game and the food supply comments are just for immersion

Barrels exploding is something that occasionally happened in real life and food supplies were a constant worry for anyone going out to sea. I‘m including those bits for immersion, the game unfortunately does not have those features

what on earth was causing the deck gun to self destruct, did history ever find out?? p.s i' never seen a ship capsize in any S.H game

Neither have I, that is why I have been so suprised. I#m not sure about the cause for the gun detonations. There are really only two options. Badly manufactured or bored barrels, or faulty ammunition. Both can either be a result of low quality materials and rushed production, or sabotage

I respect your beliefs, but keep in mind that ultimately this series is about sailors. If you know anything about sailors, then it is that profanity is to be expected to some degree.
